Sir i would like to tell you that being fresher though i have got 3-4 offers but somewhere i had to compromise in terms of salary, somewhere in terms of night shifts and somewhere in terms of job profile. Why a compromise only for freshers???????

We all know that unemployment is a big problem in India but at this movement there are plenty of jobs in the market, than why not employment of Freshers. Only experienced person is getting better opportunity to work in this hiked market scenario and a fresher is not even getting an opportunity to start.

For me, i spend my 23 years for getting degree after bachelor i thought after completion my PG in marketing i will get post and compensation but now i realize that i was totally wrong.

Yes, everyone says the job marketing is in boom, but it is only for the experienced people. Everyday I see in the news paper jobs of people with experience of 2+ or 4+ what about the freshers, Why companies scared to take freshers ?????

Boom in market is beneficial only for experienced becausse only expericed people are getting hike and freshers are still on a job search. Boom in market is not beneficial to freshers at all. But on the same side it is giving a huge hike to the experienced personnel.

Dear Monica, having read your statement it seems either you are fresher or pursuing . Whatsoeve as far as employement opportunity for freshers is concerned it is not true that there is not openings for freshers. Ya it is true it takes time. Even you can think yourself if were at the position of hiring position, what would be your decision. No doubt , you too will hire only experinced but for the freshers sometims they have to compormise with salary but don't compormise with your desired interest or profile.

Neither. My view is that if this is the case then the economy is definitely NOT in a boom. During a strong bullish phase as we have witnessed up until November 2008, the world experienced the one bubble after the other starting with the dot.com bubble and ending spectacularly with the property bubble. The world has now changed forever and new value systems are developing in peoples minds.

During these heady bullish economic phases as we experienced, greed overrides common sense. New industries developes out of it which require new skills. Those skills are then scarce as the prececeding period did not require it.

So, you will have continuously changing skills requirement as the world moves from the one economic phase to a new one.

When Wall Street bankers were calling the shots untill 2008, the emphasis was on financial skills. Now that the world is facing VERY serious resource shortages I would imagine that the engineers and scientist will be the important players. They are going to be relied upon to find alternatives in order for humanity to survive into the next millenium.
