It happens.. Because they don't want to give as much as they take from us.. Problems come up too late.. The projct that was accomplised some time back , where he had praised us..same project becomes faulty..

I think that if it happens, then that is the fault of the appraisal system your organisation is having. If the system is transparent and effective, then there is no question of the behaviour of the boss during appraisal time. I personally feel that the goals and targets should be decided in congruence with the Supervisor and quarterly appraisals should be done. this will ensure the effective documentation of the employees' works and at the end of the year, the 4 qtrs can be combined and provided annual appraisal. There should be always a place to include misc activities where the employee can specify those activities which were not mentioned in the goals and targets.

In appraisal system , first we will decide the goals/targets. It is not possible to show our predefined goals in some departments like maintenance/operations. In that case we are giving some estimated goals and in appraisal company giving marks for those goals. There is no marking for the things we done in the complete year in many companies. That depends upon the company policies. In my company appraisal process there is chance to add missing goals/extra done tasks at the time of appraisal

Yes, everything is possible in corporate. we have to taking care in corporate. CORPORATE me sab kuch hota he. Because so many factor are available and time is change. Otherwise before 20 years ago , it was not there or too less at that time.

What a topic to debate on... I guess it is not Boss who change his/her behaviour infact it is subordinate who changes because in the end it is BOSS who has to rate you on your projects success and failure.
