I think super brand will be effected both in negative as well as in a positive way. THe best example could be of Navratan oil in which Amitabh Bachachan was taken as a brand ambassador. In this ad people started saying as to he can do anything for money and his popularity was loosing grounds.

From my point of view its the choice, persona,above all an idea to corelate with the Brand.The example that you gave of Navrattan, there is superbrand Amitabh.B and the product- oil, there's no corelation.

For an idea if Fair &Lovely asks Serena Williams for an advocacy, that's an idea! there will be major curiosity among the users of fair and lovely as well.
