Companies beleive that you can launch a product and suceed without doing any ATL activity in a phased manner. Some companies prescribe the opposite... What suceeds is a systematic launch and follow up.. It is like a baby given tonic which helps it grow .... and become strong in the longer run.

Yes systematic planning is essential, before targeting you need to develop a plan and see the demand for the product. Then we need to decide whether to use ATL or BTL ot TTL.......

In order to attract more customers ads are necessary but at the same time if the product doesn't meets customer expectations then there will be more negative publicity.

no product can be sold with just a tv ad. If the product has value and is promoted by customer satisfaction, it soon becomes a successful product.. "Lijjat papad" is a classic example.

You have to communicate about your product to your target market. Its you who have to find out the means of communication.Speaking generally, we may not have time to go through newspaper everyday but we surely watch television even for a hour or so. Tele ads are most common means  to generate awareness , be it for mass or class.

Yes systematic planning is a must to reach to your target consumers. No one plans to fail but always fails to plan, which is main reason to failure.

I am a gr8 proponent of Direct Markketing......Tv is good tool for mass awareness and splurge but not scale....verticals in sales and marketing eventually happens on intrinsic strength of the product, fantastic logistics management, and consumer contact point schemes and loyalty programmes that help the product  not only sustain and survive but scale during its  lifecycle.........hence YES.....SYSTEMATIC PLANNING IS ON AND SHOULD BE THE BASE OF A LARGE CONTIGENT PLANNING FOR THE PRODUCTS LIFECYCLE.......Sanjay singhal

Not all companies can afford 2 advertise their products on TV & Newspapers, yet their products still survives in the market by using other medias like the outdoor, direct mail, websites, text messages etc. Systematic Planning is a must to decide the right & most appropriate advertising media for the success of the product.
