Not the complete match but something innovative like spot fixing cannot be completely ruled out from this game....remember thousands of crores money is running on this game in the form of betting and anything can happen....you cant really rule out some sort of fixing....

Yes, it was planned much before. As Sharad Pawar knew the amt. of betting done in this game, he choose to became the ICC Chief  & intended to resign from agriculture ministry. He know the business very well. All bookies are working under D company and he knows to manage ICC committe and D Company.

Yes, cricket having 'evolved' so much from a 'gentlemen's game' to totally 'professional' (though the term professional may not have any pejorative connotations by itself - most of us are professionals after all!), nothing can be ruled out.

I don't think so! Not this time, when a lot of heat generated, media hype created, and every player is charged up and started playing mind game, cricket diplomacy on cards, every player is on scanner, no one would dare to think about that, after they have lost 3 key players in such fixing!

It is a known fact that matches have been fixed in the past. Pakistan has had a larger hand in this. Drugs and other underworld activities are initiated through the Pakistan-Dubai link but money belongs to Indians.

In my view both the bookie and the punter are equally responsible.

This particular match is differently viewed in view of the invitation extended by our PM to Pak PM. How would it look if when the country's PM is watching the game with the opposing Team's PM, the team conspires to lose!??

I am not speaking only of Pakistani players.

I do believe that pakistan interior minister's statement could demotivate Pakistan team but his warning is in order. Let's recall the maxim "No fire without smoke!!"

India are the favourites and bookies stand to gain if India loses! Indian bookies beware...do not fix matches... I am bothered about such a loss of face to our PM also.

One thing is certain, however. India should have informed Pakistan to keep its kargil initiatives aside when Pakistan PM sits with Indian PM at Mohali.

Memories are bitter. When Atal Bihari Vajpayee was riding a bus to Pakistan, Pakistani soldiers were busy waging war against India at Kargil!!

We should also publicise the motto : It is important to participate - result should be taken in one's stride...This is especially so when two countries have attached so much importance to the event...

The match could be a diplomatic platform but not an actual war...

Cricket is a great entertainer and as with all great entertainment it is a huge money earner. Wherever there is money there is illegal and immoral activity involved.

In fact, all the matches fixed, not just the India - Pak match.

The much hype about India or South Africa or any other team winning the world cup is to push up their ratings and push down their odds. Thus, a lot of money would be bet on India or SA but eventually these teams would not make it and thus the bookies and their backers (politicians and Cricket Officials) would make money. See, South Africa already were knocked out by NZ.

It has become a farce and hard to believe that anyone, except for a few players, are playing straight.

The TRP world media would get by fixing matches between countries with controversial relationships would be 100 times bigger and profitable, than the trivial TRP gained by disclosing this fact. :D

Calculations are very well done. After all hardwork setting who wins who loses, they could ultimately make India and Pakistan to stand against each other.

Hard to comment on this. i would say no. we need to see it to believe it sometimes. i would be doing the same as this is a sport/game. why think of match-fixing and lose our cool over a match that is so thrilling.
