You go to any top level engineering, medical and management institutes, any big IT company in India and abroad and you will find many people from Bihar so potential has always been there but no government and infrastructural support. Again that was also due to selfish governance of Congress and Sonia Gandhi who promoted Lalu Prasad more than anybody else so that they can get RJD support in centre to form the government, they made Lalu Prasad the face of Bihar but Bihar is not only about Lalu Prasad Yadav, it is more than that and some how people have realised it that's why IIT patna kind of decisions, there is no IIT in top level states like Maharashtra.

Bihar does have a potential to become not only an IT hub. There are lots of opportunities to make this place as education hub. Look at this opportunity in the blog below. http://opportunityineducation.blogspot.com/

Patna has a new buzz all-round. Many shopping centres, malls and lots of fashionable eateries and coffee shops have appeared recently. Also giving a more modern look to Patna are some of the city’s newly-built overpasses, which have to some extent smoothed the flow of traffic (the number of cars running on the streets has significantly increased in recent years, choking already congested roads of Patna). The capital now also has a nightlife! The changed atmosphere has given new freedom to youngsters to spend their time at coffee shops or malls, while families now go out for dinner even late into the evening. The present situation in Patna is a complete contrast to that of five years ago, when lawlessness was the biggest problem facing the state."Logon mein jagriti ayee hai, woh apni kahani likhega. yeh chunao ne nayee khani likhi hai. (People have awakened, this will write its own story. This election has written a new story),"so i feel IT will boom in Bihar.....

Yes ... everything is possible. But Madam Parthana, why U seat here on the opposite side ? All the states of our country have tremendus strengths. They are to be nurtured - encouraged - supported. Ours is a Federal-type of country. We are to understand very clearly that India shines, when her states shine. So, no state may be left behind. Bihar has all strengths and in due course, if things function ok, they may come forward. There must be peace first of all - development must occur. There must be PEACE : Maoists : r U listening ? May the present Govt. in Bihar take a tough stand against Maoists .. ?

Saying that IIT has opened up in Patna is not a measure of the progress of a state. Germans and Japanese are known to have a national character like wise Bihar has a population that is now used to stay the way system want's them too , The present C.M Nitish ji is trying to change the entire system , but it takes time people are feeling uncomfortable with stricter policing, the mafias are not very happy.I hear this everytime and again that BIHARI students are the best, it's not as if others are dumb and Bihari's drive INDIA .... whenever a Student with NO or less means clears IAS or IIT it is actually a miracle and that is the reason such students are highlighted in the MEDIA !!! if you talk about IIM's not many BIHAR students would be there with a few exceptional students as CAT requires Excellent English as well and that's where these bright IIT students are not able to score in CAT, had they been provided with excellent schooling since primary level the same students would have done wonders. These are the basic infrastructural problems Nitish ji is working for , he would need another term after this to bring about a visible change. secondly Banglore is not banglore because of any local factor Majority of people are educated in the sector , top notch institutes , education , Govt.subsidies , Law and order, etc. and decades of focus from state as well as Centre , all these factors make a city/state what it is .. why Bihar/or for that matter any state that overpowers these basics factors will become Banglore.. Example Gujrat is leading !!!

I think it is a dream far away... Bad politics, lack of trained peoples, infrastructures etc are the big issues... See, some states like Kerala, highly educated people (they wont go for phisical hard working but good brain and good professionals), good and supporting environment etc. So the next chance goes to Kerala, Tamil Nadu etc.

I mean its really hard to change the image which it had earlier, I know for the fact that there are many people from Bihar state who are in IT industry, but making them to go back I guess its difficult as lawlessness was there in Bihar, where Kidnappings were happening like anything, and infrastructure wise the state was totally neglected, and now we are seeing reports that all of a sudden there is huge investment and it has clocked nearly 11% growth which I think could be debatable, as there are no proofs of where the improvements are happening, though the state is claiming that there are less people who are leaving the state, I am seeing many people coming in search of job or totally shifting their business elsewhere in the country. And for Bihar to become a next Bangalore interms of as a IT destination is a bit far fetched I guess, what do you think guys?
