The social network's innovative Social Inbox represents nothing less than a revolutionary bid to make Facebook our personal communications hub. When it comes to Facebook, you can count on one thing: Chief Executive Officer and Founder Mark Zuckerberg is not afraid to lose preconceived notions and instead move hundreds of millions of people in an entirely new direction. Sometimes his ideas work, which is one of the reasons why the Palo Alto based social Web company has been able to constantly reinvent itself.

For its first three years of life, Facebook was merely a social network. Then it transformed itself in quick succession into a social Web platform and then into a social aggregator of the Web. On Monday, the company launched its "Social Inbox," a new kind of messaging system that is the first public manifestation of the new, new Facebook. Can Facebook become the one stop personal communication hub??

Facebook has not only reinvented the idea of the in-box, but has gone one better. It has done so by moving away from the traditional idea of e-mail. One of the reasons why Yahoo! and Google Mail have struggled to become entirely social is because it's hard to graft a social hierarchy on top of communication tools.

Facebook did the exact opposite by imagining e-mail as only a subset of what is, in reality, communication. SMS, Chat, Facebook messages, status updates, and e-mail is how Zuckerberg sees the world. With the address book under its control, Facebook is now looking to become the "interaction hub" for our post-broadband. Facebook has reinvented the "communication" experience.

It's definitely a communication hub because in today's world nothing secure so we should utilize the things to their best. And if we think abt security than we can achieve nothing in our life as in Private sector their is no security of your JOB.

FB can be the one stop personal communication hub. Few of them are having the intention that using social networks are not safe. Security is depend on individuals usage and perception. Things would never go wrong without the knowledge of 'USER'. We could find faults in all the events,  to have solution is better than misconception.

Facebook can be the one stop personal communications hub if it addresses the privacy and security issues apart from innovating and adding additional functionality to meet the Vision of being a single point communications hub.

I don’t think that FaceBook should become the one stop communication hub. Facebook has many other issues to work out. Some people that network have little interest in FaceBook but they use it because they need to. I don’t think that too many people would be to interested in FaceBook becoming a main source for communication.
