Can Google be able to rule roost outside search?

It is seen that Google is sometimes misled with the term “search” which is the center of our day-to-day computing that happens across the world. And in recent times the company has achieved a market cap of $183 billion, which is about 71% of the total value of much more established archrival Microsoft.  However, Google has enlarged its domain beyond the stellar search, and keeps increasing its bundle of free tools or applications that enable users to communicate, manage multimedia, map trips and even create virtual worlds. With such huge resources in hand, the company had released about 50 new products in last two months. And recently, the company has acquired various companies like AdMob, Gizmo5, Teracent and AppJet to increase its revenue outside search-based ads business.

But then the main reason behind the title what I have given is the reason that Google is launching its much anticipated Google nexus phone (Google phone) and also with Google trying many things at a time, this gives me a chance to raise an important & somewhat interesting question to you all, Can Google be able to rule roost outside search?

Though Google dominates search, it can do really well in other areas also, not only google phone, but also their Google ventures which is funding new ventures which are into clean energy technology and companies which are taking green initiatives, and are funding like anything and this will give them a good hold on future technologies. And then every year we see them acquiring some or the other company and giving them their google touch to make the product much more accessible to all, even in search they are not relaxing, though Bing was getting popular, then Google came back with a bang with their realtime search with twitter updates on google and now recently with Google goggles where one can simply use a photo for query, so this Google the added advantage of being a far superior company than anybody in the world at the moment, and surely they can do well in other formats which is other than search.

I dont think so, that Google will be able to dominate other business formats than search, though they are on a acquiring spree it will be difficult for them to come out with new product time and again, it would do good if  they improve their search with realtime and visual search, the Google phone and other things what you have mentioned will not create much impact as there are already players doing really well, it will be like just another company entering the space which is being dominated by others, and is trying to cash in on the trend like in the case of google phone, with the success of iphone google is trying its hand in smartphone category, which is already having the likes of RIM, HTC, Palm, and many others, just because google has certain impage will not give them success on all the fronts.

don't do any kind of changes with google because according to me google is the best one search engine as compared to others if any body wanted to search any thing if he/she doesn't know the actuall speeling but than also he can find the extact thing if he/she put just near by the words the main thing is that if u have the little good knowledge about to use google you can easily find many more things in google so easily

Google today is something more than search, not because they keep acquiring other companies ,not because they keep jumping into other business domains outside their expertise etc..
but because they are simply unique in what they do !!
Didn't search engines exist before Google entered the internet ?? there were many and the most biggest of all were Yahoo and AOL (america online ) but they were full of crab.Google came and added value to search so much so that it became a household name .
There are numeroues news agencies and do very well,but who is trying out experiments like Living stories ?? an automatically generated continuation of a news article , in simple words , a news continued ??
Yahoo mail was extremely popular once , but there is something that made gmail so popular ,maybe the chat , maybe the speed , maybe the layout of conversations , did i mention the relevant ads along side ?? did yahoo or hotmail do any of this ??
The power of looking at your world with some satellite imagery was never thought of , Google acquired a compnay Keyhole Inc and took its tech to the next level, so much so that viewing and searching for our planet was never the same experience .Did others do any of this ??
How many companies spend million of dollars on marketing and yet fail to create the buzz which Google does in its own ways be it the doodles ,the april fools jokes, the  alien tweets  etc..
I do not think Google is mad after capturing businesses one after the other .All that i know is that it is really great in adding value in our lives and i do not think any of us will disagree on this .
The reasons why Google will suceed in its ventures :
1.Google ventures, because it will speed up emerging start -ups who have a promisign product /service 
2.ITs Open initiative :--
this is omething which defines the technology of google , be it the Hadoop parallel computing infrastructure ,THe OpenCV based image processing in Google maps etc.. Google open initiative will certainly reap benefits in the future.
I believe these two reasons will make Google quite succesful in all its ventures .

The age old saying you cant be a jack of all trades. Google may be a one stop solution for search engine related domains but certainly I don think they will domite other areas. And more ove the technolgy is a dynamic domain which sways its riders every now n then
