Can !? Wake up, you people living in the 18th Century, still, INDIA IS ALREADY ONE OF SUPER POWERS !

Ask the US President who requested India to buy bonds of millions of dollars from the IMF so that the bankrupt US, UK and their allies could take loans from IMF to save their dying economies. That stands for "Indirect Begging", in my way, and can be called " International Co-operation" in their way.

And Biggest thing that shows India's power is : INDIA DID BUY THOSE BONDS FOR MILLIONS OF DOLLARS !

i have doubts of India becoming super power..and Anjali is also right here may be not now but few decades down the line there is every possibility...but then i am on the No side because...Indian Politics is not there upto the International standards, to take a positive decision here it takes years, and there are so many development programs that are not completed and are just lying in the government offices in all those files, as each time there is new government the project would be stalled..and there is so much corruption...and with corruption and all the reservation, right people are not getting their due chance to make the difference..so if the situation remains the same..then India cannot be a Super power...Even down the line People will be asking the same Question...Can India be a Super power????...it will always be CAN!!!!

Hopefully India can provided more people like Nandan nilekani, Naveen jindal, and recent sikkim IIT-IIM MP join the government. Good relations with other countries is also very much needed.

Civil servants should think of establishing corruption free adminstration throughout the country. Professors and research scholars should also come forward.

I also agree with you Anjali, but do not agree with the time line mentioned. India has shown its strong foot which cannot be uprooted easily in the current time of recession. However it is being strong giving strong resistance to the recession. In my view, we can reduce to timeline to 5-10 or even less. As we all know that no country is perfect in itself, even the current super power USA is also not so perfect with its economy and we have seen this in past few months. Yes there are corruption, and other hindrences. Still I think it depends on Every INDIAN Individual will power to make a Super Power.

I agree partly with subbaiah, it will take time for India to become the super power, and we will, but as Mr. Subbaiah has mentioned, corruption and other things are hindering the process...i am sure that down the line we will be saying yes India is a super power...

I quite agree with Dinesh here, it has every chance of becoming a super power, but not now it takes time to become a super power,,one can't become a Super power just like that...one has to do many things right to achieve that kind of a status..may be 20 years down the line or more than that may be we can become the super power...

Custodians of our country, POLITICIANS, would be the single most factor that can DECIDE on being a Super Power!

As citizens we have aspirations because we put in our efforts to ensure success in what we do, what we project and what we achieve on the global platform! But if that doesnt get the prominence it deserves by the custodians of our nation we are then caught in a whirlpool of a 9 to 5 job only with no significant dues given to our own hard work!

Till suh time that these white collared pests who rule the nation do not sit up and realise that there is more beyond being cunning and corrupt and a chair that empowers them to do all these things because we have elected them, we will always end up doing JAAGO RE and never wake up!!

Yes, we have the potential, the intellect, the determination and the numbers to achieve being a SUPER POWER! As of now, we are helpless in achieving the dream. In the given scenario where terrorists can freely unload 200 odd bullets in the most prime area of Mumbai and one of the oldest heritage hotels (TAJ) we will never be able to achieve it!
