India's strategic location in the Indian Ocean and proud martial traditions will make it a dominant player in South Asia and the Middle East in the next 25 years, a Pentagon report has said. India has a special place in the future international environment. Few countries in the world may figure as prominently in future US strategic calculations. India's military will receive substantial upgrades in the coming years. That fact, combined with its proud martial traditions and strategic location in the Indian Ocean, will make India the dominant player in South Asia and the Middle East

Also, from economical side, India is showing its excellence to the world. Indian markets were the least effected ones during the economic downturn. They are recovering in the fastest rate around the world, no. of billionires are increasing in India. We are overtaking other industries everyday. Our engineers and businessmen are showing their dominance to the whole world.

So, do you think India can become the strongest nation in South Asia and middle East?

Thanks for the referral Archana

The best thing about us Indians is that we always underestimate our selves. We always think that we don’t have the capacity to do a particular thing.

India is a country which has time and again proved that when we put our skills to use we can overcome any obstacles.

Some of the best minds we have in the world are from Indian origin, we are the ones who are shaping the economy of a lot of Middle East Countries, it is our people who are working there and making their economy prosper and thus making them more strong.

I believe that all we Indians need is a little push in the right direction, and no doubt we can become the strongest nation, not only in the Middle East & South East but in the whole world.

Dr Ahmad I agree with your argument completely. Infrastructure or not, we have the people with the correct number of grey cells that when shown the direction will do the needful and see it till the end!!

Thanks for the referral :)

India can certainly become and important nation this the south east Asia. Mainly because A. Cheap labour which helps to produce at low cost. B. Highly educated, skilled and English speaking man power. C. Large population of India are still in the age of 20 to 35 years, where as China is aging this is a real advantage to India

I like your enthusiam. But can we really grow with:half of worlds hungry population leaves in India. I dont need to comment on politics. The bigger problem is in attitude " Sab chaleta hai". Are this all signs of great nation. Talking of GDP agriculture is biggest contirbuter which is seen as problem and not an opportunity.

One's growth cannot be restricted with the GDP or Economy figures only, We are situated in a geopolitical unstable region surrounded by countries which have frequent tumultuous events happening every now and than, this has affected our security. Center needs to take actions and forget about decade run dialogues with them , our center should take Action in form of diplomatic ties and restrictions on  having trade with them.

Lack of basic infrastructure is main concern. Lack of accountability among public service officials.

No possible to reach that level in 20 years...China is already 20-30 years advanced from us..They will go forward...

But diffenate,ly there will be good growth in all the sectors. iF 10% more people grow also, the country will be in differenct shape.

My concern is that, the poorers will ramain same..

Not till China is there. We shouldn't forget we are still lame in front of China and its growth is much faster than ours. Pakistan, Afganistan, China etc are hurdles in this dream. So, first we have to overcome these problems then will have to think of becoming strongest in southern Asia.
