Can India touch 1 billion Mobile connections in 2011?

India's mobile phone market added 18.98 million new subscribers to its network in October, taking the total number of connections to 706.69 million, official data has showed. According to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), the wireless phone user base grew 2.76 percent to 706.69 million in October from 687.71 million in the previous month.

With this, the total telephone subscriber base in the country, both wireless and wireline connections combined, touched 742.12 million. The overall tele-density reached 62.51 percent.  Can India touch 1 billion mark in 2011 interms of mobile connections??

They can....and the mobile connections are increasing mainly due to people managing more than one connection with them...and opting different telecom network providers at the same time with dual sim phones which are on the rise, with India having 1.2 billion population, I dont thing everybody here can afford a mobile phone and its monthly expenses. With new network providers coming into the scene with attractive offers for consumers surely 1 billion mark of mobile connections will be reached in 2011.
