Yes,Quality wise India telecommunication sector is good,But There should be needed some more implementations in india compare to China.China always try to provide the mobiles with less price.Karbonn,MicroMax,etc some many local India brands are giving orders to china to make mobiles with less price.

In my view, very small percetage of educated people go for China made telecom product due to thier worst quality products, these all are use & throw type.

A Positive outlook and frame of mind helps us to achieve everything in life the way we expect it...in other words..definitely Indian Telecom would surely catch up or even cross out China...I guess if am not wrong, more than half of Australia has Indians...this itself implies that we are in no way behind any one...the only thing required is focussed attention & commitment...India ranks almost equal with China on terms of population criteria...Most of the people in China are focussed on productivity along with survival, also they are capable and versatile to any type of working conditions...Indian telecom would surely catch up with China and overthrow them, but what needs to be assessed here is...is it really required..?

Sure Greshma we will surely beat China in numbers be it population or telecom users. Yet all equipments in use will be made in china............which means this increased base would be benefiting chinese-economy. So while we spend ......chinese earn.

Remember one thing that today whole world is concentrating on Indian mobile market. From top billionaires to even a owner of medium sized industry everyone wnts to invest in our countrys mobile buisness. But TRAI has to put clear view of the policies and provide attractive incentives like income tax holiday for initial years of investment. Take the case of unitech which is all set with foreigners to dominate and challenge others. A higher class secondary school student to senior citizens they may forget anything to carry but never forget to have a mobile in hand irrespective of their income, status,. etc .... mobile is like a magnet sticking to everyone.

Chinese companies such as Huawei and ZTE have now gained a 15 per cent share in the Indian telecom market as their equipment is priced 30 to 40 per cent cheaper than their Western rivals Ericsson, Alcatel- Lucent and Nokia Siemens Networks. They’re winning contracts with Indian Telcos like Tata and Reliance. Its difficult................

Good that U did not want 2catch up with (like) the USA and European Countries. As an optimist, me too like to catch up with China ... in (say) 5 yrs. Even does not matter if we remain just below China in Telecom Growth .. ( .. theirs is 550.0 milo right now in China though ... ) .................................. One News Item was doing its rounds recently : India has more mobile phones than "toilets" in house-holds. Any comment ? ... follow me on Twitter : KusariAsoke

We cannot because faulty policies framed by the Indian
government, right from the Independence till the New Telecom Policy was
formulated in 1999. In fact if I am not wrong till 1990, we were ahead.
