It was a big leap for job sites like Monster and Naukri to be on electronic media. An ongoing advertisement on the most commonly watched source means that there is a market for job sites. Where do these companies showcase themselves?? On GEC's, Sports channels.... Why?? The mass is available to create awareness. Its the communication which decides the choice of the job seeker. Monsters monster has stopped delivering the candidaye on his palms to the right vertical, but Hari Sadu is back with a bang!! Strategically, monsters absence means that it is got the hits that are necessary, Naukri's Sadu means that they are hurting and want more logins... There are a number of factors that decide a job portals position. According to me Monster has reached that status already!! Thanks for the referral. :)

In my opinion, there is not a generally valid answer. So I support for "No". For example, if you are a great company, with a well established employer branding, I suppose a better solution would be to have an own Internal Job Market portal, duable in use: for internal and external hiring, supporting a well integrated process. If you are focused mainly on internal indian market, may be a local job site with a brand more established is the best solution (many of the previous respondents mentioned someone of these). If you are addressing an international market and your employer brand isn't so well established all around the world, your strategy must be more differentiated. To have one common international partner, any case, is only one out of many possible strategies. For example, Monster don't seems to be a good choice for managers/ middle manager s positions: country by country a more focused/ specialized solution could be the best My 2 cents

In my opinion no job site is number 1. First of all I would like to know what are the criterion on which number 1 is decided. Is it number of Hits or the feedbacks from the employers/employee. Practically, Job seeker enrolls himself/herself to more than one job site, off course Monster is one of them. When an individual is really in search of a job, he doesn't care from which site he is receiving the call whether monster or any else. He/she just want to have a job. Most of the updates you receive from Monster/Yahoo/Naukri on your e-mail ID does not suits yours profile. For example, if you are a searching for a job of Project Manager in Publishing field. The e-mail you will receive will contain all the jobs of Project Manager except for the one in publishing field. There search engines also captures shows the same. From the employee point of espect it is essential to know the Keywords for your profile, most of the times your keywords will extract jobs that does not match your profile. Generally, we do not receive any acknowledgement from the employer side, we receive acknowledgement from the job portal site that your application has been forwarded. I have not gone for the paid services for these site, hopefully, when you pay you must not be facing the above mentioned facts. Factor that is of utmost importance is native country, state job sites which enables the employer and employee to fetch people from neighbouring areas, untill you don't want to work offshore. Most of the times the job sites seems to be made for the professtionals of very high skills. Your specific search will yield only few results that too of no use. Most of the biggies does not want to put their jobs on the site. They either want to place it through internal reference of IJPs. As NAUKRI.com is preferred site in INDIA. Therefore, MONSTER or any other job sites cannot be considered as number 1 or 2 or so on...
