Any time that Software as a Service (SaaS) is mentioned, the investment world loves it. salesforce.com has blazed a trail that many want to follow. CRM is built for SaaS: connecting distributed sales reps via the web and cellphones is a great deployment of having service-oriented software.
But can the same model apply to Trade Finance?

My thought is that anyone who signs up for Software as a Service should expect to compromise and be happy about it. As long as the basics are in place, we should get rid of the analysts and get on with the business. Trying to apply enterprise-grade integration requirements to Trade Finance is asking for trouble (its the reason why GTM software is not flying off the shelves). No, build a basic service and be upfront about the limitations and my guess is that the market is so ready for this, they will accept the lack of integration in favour of cheaper trade.

Well the  integration requirement is not easy to support anything other than an enterprise model. But even the mighty SAP found that the biggest integration challenges in APO (Advanced Planning and Optimization) are too great: tying together 23 feeder systems across multiple companies is simply too difficult. They are an endangered species they are so rare. But there are a lot of software's available to support trade finance , no doubt
