Can Twitter beat Facebook?

A good competitor, is Twitter. .. @vipin ,, its not about blocking facebook. And not blocking Twitter. . Its about the percentage of facebook in international market . I mean Market share. They have some 99% of market share in online when compared with twitter.

Facebook is just like Time Square. You have lot of things with you scattered here and there. Obviously People will love to see colourful things not knowing whether its good or not . Whether its needed or not. But people always love to see Colorful things

. The revenue of Facebook is much more when compared with Twitter. So Even in the future , FACEBOOK will be more colorful with all the junks and other stuffs.... But twitter is nothing but a simple text conversation. Even video sharing and lot more there. People still Stick with colors.

Its like your comparing APPLE With MICROSOFT. Even apple is market share is less than 1% still it holds its name.

No way. Facebook is well advanced

First off, if the Twitterati, bloggers, journalists and entrepreneurs of the social media world had to pay to use a social media site, most said they would pay to use Facebook (32.2%) closely followed by LinkedIn (29.7%) and Twitter (21.8%). MySpace and Digg were favored by just 1.5% of the social media elite.

Facebook is becoming increasingly embedded in Internet users' everyday lives and, as one respondent to Abrams Research's survey of social media leaders put it, "[Facebook is] better than my godforsaken landline, which I pay for every month and wonder why".

But, when the social media leaders were asked what social media service they would advise a business pay for, Twitter came out on top with almost 40% of respondents. The micro-blogging site beat Facebook over two to one and left MySpace in the dust because, said the experts, it offers "instantaneous feedback from and interaction with customers/users" and because "the ability to broadcast and give a business a "voice" is powerful marketing."

I don't think twitter beats Facebook because twitter is been working more for Famous people rather than everybody but Facebook works in every aspect

No.I don't think twitter beat face book. million of people habituated with face book. and it is taken part of life,which impossible task for twitter, future will told.

These both social website are looking similar to each other but ic fact both platform is different to altogether hence there is no competition to beat by one to other, more interestingly if one has log on on one website he / she will definitely log on to other site too!!  

I think still twitter has to go far to compete with Facebook. Facebook is immensely popular evrywhr. Exciting applications and features make facebook a complete social networking website.Its far more interactive and appealing than twitter.

The product called Twitter , in principle, never was a substitute to facebook, let alone prospects of it replacing facebook.

The real reason why facebook is so popular, in my opinion, is because it satiates the voyeuristic tendencies inherent in humans across the board. Like peek into your favorite boy/girl's profile, and get yourself refreshed. Facebook also has a nostalgic appeal to it when someone reconnects with old buddies, share pics etc. Twitter doesnt even come close.

Yeah but Twitter would definitely partly eat into timeshare facebook enjoyed till date. 

face book is the best

Facebook offers additional features as compared to Twitter. Additionally, the number of users are increasing on a regular basis as compared to Twitter. Twitter is predominantly used for communicating using byte sized messages. In Canada – Facebook is becoming the 2nd national identity card – and is more dominant on a per capita basis than the United Kingdom.

However, there are privacy issues related to Facebook, which it has failed to address completely. Finally, in order for a leader to sustain itself, it has to constantly focus on its customers. As Facebook is young and it is very confident, it is growing rapidly but it is not focusing fully on the customers. This aspect if capitalized by Twitter may help it to increase its user base. However, its features are limited as compared to Facebook. Thus, some more innovation from Twitter could increase its customer base further.

In the short term, it appears that Facebook may continue to lead but the long term can indicate many surprises.....

No. I dont think so. Its like comparing Apples & Oranges. If Twitter is Like SMS then Facebook is like a Mobile service. They cannot be compared. Each has its own value.
