Recently a group of MIT researchers has demonstrated a method of network topology that could render the Internet 100 or even 1,000 times faster than it is today. The research in this regard has been ongoing for the past 20 years, but still nothing concrete has happened interms of internet speed still.  I don't know else where but in India we get speeds of 2mbps to 4mbps I guess, and when we download we can see speeds upto 200 kbps and not more than that....So, do you think the we can achieve Internet which is 100-1000 times faster than it is today??

I think we can achieve, I have some knowledge regarding the network designs and the best part is the concept is to eliminate or reduce the most time-intensive part of data transmission, which involves converting an optical signal into an electrical signal for memory storage. Memory storage is required whenever multiple optical signals arrive at the same router at the same time, requiring said router to convert and store the extra signals coming in until they can be properly processed. So if something is done here where we can divert some of the signals or stop signals coming from multiple points then we can see really good internet speeds and also hand in hand the broadband infrastructure should also improve drastically to support the demand which will be there in the future......

yes i think this can be definitely achieved.scientists are working on this topology. these stunning revelations were made after the Geneva experiment on big bang. Pls refer to my posting on this. apparently they used grid computing to link up networks of around 150 universities in order to capture enormous data, but the apprehensions are always about their high costs

Its not impossible though

Thanks for referral, Sumitra. One day we will achieve the speed of Internet faster than today's speed, but it may take some time, as the up gradation process is really very slow which is carried out by these operators.

But we will definitely achieve it.

As far as my academic knowledge goes it is very well possible. The most straight-forward and conventional step is to create fibre optic network till the end user. Speeds will be increasing atleast 10 times.

As far as the above mentioned research work goes it is possible to reduce the data packet size (by reducing header and trailer overheads) or use some algorithmic logic to compress the data being transported inside the data packets.

I would request people with relevant knowledge on this topic to shed some light on this interesting topic.

So g+ is trying hard to survice now we have brand pages on g+ too. To add to this they have added game apps to lure people. but are there enough people to make this work? Will game apps do any good to g+?
Yes sir the product is really good but it is designed for different purpose. It is mostly used for military purpose.
This might sound odd to many but yes laptops are not tough. They can break and get damaged and you will regret if this happens. So the best thing to do is to protect it the best way possible. There is just one laptop   Tough book which will not...
