With the recent discovery of a convicted felon's home containing more than 10 bodies buried, the case against Phillip Garrido's imprisonment of a woman for more than 18 years, and the conviction of ponzi creator Bernie Madoff. can we continue to trust our public officials to properly carry out their duties as public servants, or are we just setting ourselves up for more crime and no punishment?

With the recent budget cuts by states and local governments, the caseloads involved with properly supervising felons, have we finally come to the point where lawlessness will become mainstream in our society, and individual rights to protect ourselves has gone away forever?

Crime occurs everywhere. We cannot blame our security of not performing their duty merely because they detected the crime after it occurred. They are also human beings like us and are trying their best to stop crime in the society. If security is really ineffective, then even the detection of crime won't happen. We can peacefully sleep in our home merely because somewhere or other we have faith for them in our heart.
