because we are divided by languages the creation of states based on languages after partition based on religion has made this country divided in heart also otherwise local political parties would never have survived and nation would have united against corruption

No. Firstly, the System is not corrupt. It is the people who deliver goods through the system are corrupt. If the System is corrupt, appropriate measures can be taken to rectify it. But, its the human mind that handles the system are corrupted. It is , really difficult to correct these guys. Moreover, it is universal and it is not, a particular thing existing , alone in India. So, I do not think that it can be feasible to do so. Better thing is to motivate these guys and make them aware of corruption and to live for others also.Mobilize opinion and effectively, float around to educate guys.

I dont think we can. We need a leader like Gandhiji to lead such a movement. We the Indians are divided on many counts. Political parties instead of considering us as people of this country considering as just different banks. "Divide and rule" policy is still being continued even after Britishers left this country. The Census on Caste basis is one such example. I believe that people of this land are the most corrupt. They accept bribe for casting their vote. They wont come out unless they are paid. Mobilising people for a cause is a costly affair. I salute at the Egyptian people for their courage to stand against a dictator thronging the streets. I doubt about its happening in Indian. Parties and their leaders know this fact pretty well. They can continue to rob this land and people. People are habituated to look at the Govt. for any help for their development. They dont know what their power is.

Never. Our governments is still following the "Divide and Rule" method. Due to this Indians will never stay united for a cause for long periods. What ever sparks of unity comes up it would be successfully extinguished by concessions to some groups based this Divide & Rule Policy.

more people have supported that we will unite against corruption.good move but how many of us do honestly excercise our franchise and take part in electing good representitives? only 40-50% will vote and elect bad leaders and later others will talk of results!!i think we can never unite and also i'm not a pessimist! i'll be the happiest person if all will unite and eradicate the evil called corruption.

Our nation consists of many religions. There are divisions within the religions. All christians dont go to the same church. All muslims dont pray in the same mosque. Hindus have their castes. Add to this the divisions made by the political parties to garner votes. Add to this the reservation system existing for the past 60 odd years. Add to this the regional feelings. So the possibility of uniting is very distant.

So far the people are being made fools by the politicians and once the people wake up with unity against all these corrupt systems, everything will be set alright. Non-cooperation a model practiced by our father of Nation, Gandhi, shall find application one day due to frustration & desperation experienced by our citizens. Thanks for the referral Mr.Vipin Bhasin.

Its not about fighting corruption. Its about our lack of knowledge regarding our laws, procedures of the government. We dont know the procedures and we want our work to get done fast. So we end up bribing someone in the department to get our work done fast. We dont want to follow-up with the government departments. SO it is we, who spread corruption.

On the day of death anniversary of our Great Mahatma,30th January 2011, a number of civil society organisations took on to streets in as many as 60 cities in the country, headed by non-partisan leaders, viz., Mrs. Kiran Bedi, Swami Ramdev, Swami Agnivesh, etc. to eradicate corruption and also to introduce Lokpal Bill that was pending in Parliament for ages to be passed and implemented. Do we really have time to escape from the humdrum of mechanical life chasing money and family happiness. Adding a few words to form sentences require a bit of thinking, but actually participating in such moves joining hands with the like-minded people to press your demand, holding protests and dharnas, on streets require "guts"! How many of us have it? Sepoy Mutiny started in 1857, and over-throwing of British Rule came about in 1947 - imagine those 90 years of struggle! We owe allegiance to the martyrs who have shed their lives for our soil - such an hard earned freedom was frittered away! We are at fault, no one else is!

Bang on Ravali. The scale of corruption in India shows how we, as a nation, at best accept the corrupt, and at the worst participate in it. Ethics, values, morals are not modern Indian virtues; each is happy to live in his/her comfort zone. Talking against and criticizing the corrupt is all we do... Yes, we can make a difference - and it has to start with all of us: individuals, businessmen, officials, bureaucrats, politicians, executive, legislators... The stink that emanates from the mere perception of even a few judges as well as those from our armed forces makes our society corruption rich nation. Getting rich or richer, or coming/continuing to stay in power, either for an individual or group of individuals with a common vested interested, or for a political party and all that has to stop. The tainted and also their involved kith and kin must be stripped of their positions, their wealth forfeited, jailed and treated like the criminals they are.

Will not say, we will unite but will say, 'Looks difficult at thsi juncture'. Indians are first attached to their caste, then religion, next comes language, political affiliation, self. And somewhere down the list, the country. So till we put the country first, we can never unite to fight against corruption. We also need a catalyst just like the Tunisian incident, just like the Egyptian incident..... I have got hopes.

Everyone wishes Corruption to end but reinforces it directly or indirectly to fulfill the self interest. No one is ready to take the challenge to eradicate or fight against corruption because people who support it are very powerfully supported by vested interests of making money. The system in government is corrupt enough to not support a person complaining against corruption. There is need for a very strong platform with courageous people and NGOs who can support such persons making complaint and ready to fight forward. Such support even with finance and other might can provide moral base to encourage fighting person not to give in. This type of platform should come up in every town and city. Only then we can and we will eradicate corruption one day or other.

Yes, we have to. Our survival as a free society will depend on our ability to cut out this cancer of corruption. We should feel encouraged by the happenings in Egypt where a corrupt and autocratic government of 30 years was removed by peaceful and united efforts of the people. We have to follow their example, rather than opt for violent measures.

Yes we can! Unfortunately the solution is so simple that it is impossible like all simple things in this country. All we need to do is 1. not to encourage corruption 2. not practice corruption 3. make corruption something so taboo that people will shy away from even discussing it. Unfortunately our society as degenerated to the point where there are no taboos. No restraints. no discriminating thought processes. So how do you make people move away from something when they dont find anything repulsive. To find it repulsive requires a discriminating thought process! Hence the trouble.
