There is “no water” in the river Yamuna and all we see is waste dumped by the industrial units of Haryana and Delhi.
It is our Holi river and is polluted in all the ways it can be. Dips in the river won't wash away your sins but will invite many diseases for sure. Will this river get back its long lost charm. How?

It is out of question.. the factories won't ever stop using it as a dumpyard. In the end a marshy land is the only thing which will be left.. But still I have a hope. A hope that the environment minister will do something. At least to make the place better than what it is..

Yash I only partially agree with you. I know how Yamuna can be made of Yamuna of yesteryears as a free flowing river.

The idea will cost a price.

On paper a lot has been said about that, allocations were made, money also spent, action taken reports filed, so many ministers have come and gone, so much has been talked about, private NGOs have taken some vivid action, personalities, like, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar had swung into action with his followers; yet, Yamuna has become a "endangered" perennial river! When did you last see Yamuna as a happy flowing river? May be, Yamuna is not polluted at "Yamunotri", but en route, our great States, viz., Uttarakhand, UP, Haryana, Delhi and UP have allowed industrial wastes and human excreta without treatment to mix with Yamuna river! Environment Activists have done a lot in the past to arrest the scenario, but no political will!

I dont think so Yamuna river can become flowing river because it is we who have polluted it and now it is in such a bad position that we can dream of it becoming flowing again. Unless and until we understand the importance of nature no one can do anything

yamuna or ganga can never be same and this brunt will be more fealt by our next generations to come.the govt machineries is collapsing be it any political parties or persons. the communities mind set is degenerating and ammendments are made to suit the pockets and society.if you raise an issue there is no one to hear and the whistle blower is out casted and termed sadist. there was a report saying that 53 % of our water are non potable and its effect will be felt by another decade to our offsprings and comming generations.

We cannot say that media is favoring any party. BJP or congress media comes out with anything which is good or bad in both the parties. We start thinking too much and try to find clues which can make our perception stronger..
