YEAH IT IS POSSIBLE BUT IT DEPENDS ON THE EMPLOYEE'S EFFIENCY. IF HE/SHE FEELS COMFORTABLE & DEDEPRESSION.THEN OFCOURSE HE/SHE CAN DO.

See to finish the job within the fixed time is possible only when the job is in office job but for the field personnel to finish the job within the fixed time is not possible.so time should not be calculated by him/her like the in office workers. But the value of time should be understood by the employee then only he/she will be more productive in this case.

I would like to share my view that late working hours can never make them more productive, inst more productivity can be achieved by improving the working enviroment, ensuring the active participation and maintaining a good employer-employee relatinship

We can make employees more productive by making them work late hours provided with the adequate facilities needed by them. The employees will be actively involve in this assignments once they are recognised properly. Its not recommended for all the times. For Certain specific critical issues we may ask the employees to stay for late hour

Spending late working hours occasionally depending on criticality of task in hand is acceptable, however, if, you are made to do that on daily basis is totally unfair.

Productivity of employees is a factor of their motivation levels. And this motivation has to come from within the employees. Making them work late hours is unlikely to motivate them.

I share the opinion that making employees work late hours would not make them efficient. It would only make them more inefficient -it affects their sleep-wake cycle, routine, psychological processes as in learning, concentration and even their social life etc.A better approach to motivate them in increasing their efficiency would be to appreciate employees who finish their work on time by giving away tokens, certificates, vouchers etc.Appreciate them in team meetings so that this in turn would motivate other employees as well!

No. I believe working late hours at office is not justified. Actually, working late in the office has became our habit. We are used to it. It only increases pressure and also creates boredom after a point rather than increasing productivity. Office timings according to me should strictly adhered. There shouldn't be any late workings. Work should be completed within time during the office hours. It in fact will help in increasing productivity and efficiency.

No, The quantity time does not matter the matter is how u can convert the working hours of employees as quality time. By making them working too late will not only give them stress but also effect the quality of the products.

Employees are employed to get a work done. As long as the schedule is realistic and mutually agreeable, the decision as to work late or not should rest with the employee and not with the boss.

No you can not. That’s really counter-productive trying to over-work people is cruel and unusual punishment. Sometimes it is ok for employees to work extra hours but it really depends on the situation and what's needed at work. Making employees work extra hours should only be done occasionally. Everybody needs time to rest and rejuvenate themselves. When a person has enough time to take off from work they get time to relax and rejuvenate themselves. Then they come back to work refreshed in a better state of mind, with a better focus and then they can really improve their performance. People are not animals. It's even wrong to overwork animals and even worse to overwork people. You can’t just constantly work people with not enough off time, work them to death then expect them to be productive employees. When you overwork people it’s bad for business, bad for them and bad for you as a boss or owner. Overworking people with no time off can cause problems, they can become stressed out, angry , disgruntled employees then they’ll want to leave the job or they might do harmful things to their boss or co-workers etc, etc…. There are so many bad things that can come out of this. A company and/ or boss needs to have better working conditions for their employees if they want to keep their company operating at top performance or if they want their company to improve. Overworking employees can make them quit their jobs then without employees or enough employees a company will fail. Also with stressed-out, overworked employees a company can have many problems and a company could fail. ~~Business OR Career Consulting Services: You can get business or career consulting services form the Clerical Business Solutions Company (CBS). i agree with darshana to a degree. long hours may be more productive as a short term measure. in the long run it will only lead to wilting employees and several other negative effects that overall productivity will suffer. have you thought of employee marale, dissatisfaction, people leaving the company - and the suffering brand name ?

Simply no. Making an employee to work for more hours, gives a negative feedback in the minds of the employees They starts assuming that the company is unfair and they are pressurized to work for more no. of hours. This reduces quality and actual productivity of the employee.

YES, may be for a day or two. Or may be for a week or month. But never continuous. We human beings require time to recuperate our energy, give time to our spouse and kids. But modern corporate house give us all materialistic richness, except, time to enjoy them.

I think its not possible. bcoz each and every employee has a specific plan for a day, for his/her family and if it gets wasted his mental dedication towards his works reduces. If a person is not mentally fit then how can he show good productivity..

It is an established fact that after the eight hour shift the productivity of employees falls exponentially for each additional hour. For a single day or couple of days an employee may be able to produce well under stress for extended periods of time. However very soon his judgments get clouded as he is burning the candle and both ends. In the long run, it is always better for the employee and employer to plan the work day around a 8 hour shift and execute the plan meticulously. The balance that the 8 hour shift provides between personal and professional life keeps the employee's productivity high
