Catch 22: Should IPL (Deccan chargers) matches be held in Hyderabad?

As I am a big fan of IPL and I was shocked to see, the Andhra Pradesh government which has asked the Deccan Chargers team not to play in the Indian Premier League 3 (IPL) tournament if the inaugural match is not held in Hyderabad as per the original schedule. Sports Minister K. Venkat Reddy has made it clear and has asked Deccan Chargers to pull out of the tournament if the IPL refused to hold the opening ceremony and inaugural match here.

As IPL has decided to move the opening ceremony and the inaugural match between local franchise Deccan Chargers and Kolkata Knight Riders, scheduled to be played here March 12, to Mumbai in view of the unrest for a separate state of Telangana.

And this is exactly a catch 22 situation, if matches are held it will be hard for players to participate in matches in Hyderabad due to security reasons and if there are no matches held the home team looses its support and would receive severe flak from public and others as they are the reigning champions. So what do you think people, should IPL (Deccan Chargers) matches be held in Hyderabad? Do share your views.

I think IPL matches should happen in Hyderabad as Deccan chargers are the reigning champions and even last time around IPL did not happen in India due to inadequate security reasons as Elections were being held at that time, and fans were really dissapointed with no IPL in India, and now when IPL has returned to India and Deccan chargers being the champions it would be better if the matches are held in India, and AP government should ensure adequate security to players and the staff and avoid any clash between the Telangana activists.

No , it should not be held in hyderabad. Just Weeks ago , there was a huge revolt by telangana activists especially students. Since hyderabad comes under telangana region, the activists might use this oppurtunity to create an unwanted tense situations where law keepers might find to difficult to control it. Also till now there was no positive response regarding the  query for seperate telangana state. As players from various part of world are expected to join the IPL, the security should be ensured by the security officers . Hence keeping security in mind, matches need not be started in hyderabad. This might create unrest among the crickets lovers from andhra, but this can be compensated by holding 1 or 2 mathches in andhra rather than opening match.

first of all Deccan Chargers is a team representing Andhra Pradesh. If hyderabad is removed as a venue, then it should not take part in IPL3. If Mumbai is eligible to host matches then  why not hyderabad??? Does Mumbai is lot safer than Hyd at present??? which is vulnerable even for a movie???

Yes its the responsibility of the AP govt. to ensure the security of the players,they just can't move away from the debate.cricket is a religion in india..It may have some good impact at the bad times...i guess so..
