As a part of my CDM Project for Air Coolers we did a technical paper on Coolers Vs AC. Though Coolres are lowe energy solutions, and involves good air quality, AC's fared better with the respondents with respect to (a) Status symbol, (b) feeling of highre comfort. However when you compute the costs of Tons of Carbon it emits due to the consumption of the electricity, Ac's are worst offenders and it would be almost more than 100 times that of Fans and Coolers. Thugh coolers weighed in favour because of its ability to bring down temperatures to around 26oC, whch fans cannot. Hence AC's usage should be shunned. Ask Symphony for this.

I fully support Air conditioners in peak summer. Ceiling fan can never compete with AC in respect of cooling. During peak summer, who does not want AC ? The temparature is around 48 to 49 degrees and please let me know whether ceiling fan works better or AC ? I am not against ceiling fan, but it is just not fine in Summer season atleast. Barring Summer, Rest of the year Ceiling fan works very well.

40 + temperatures do need air conditioners in concrete buildings. Unless, there's norm for naturally cooling architecture, ceiling fans are not sufficient to cool down buildings.

Everyone wants to purchase AC but all cannot. But does that mean Fans will be in higher demand , I don't think so. Those who already have fan wouldn't go and buy new ones.. And except that there is some problem with the existing ones.

The demand for both with co-exist. Air-conditioners may occupy bed-rooms and the drawing rooms, yet fans would be required in portico, dining hall, study rooms, etc. If the middle class buys one A.C., they would go for three ceiling or pedestal fans. Therefore, demands for both will co-exist.

We should prefer ceiling fans over air conditioners because they are power efficient and also don`t harm the atmosphere. Air conditioners are responsible for destruction of ozone layer.

Air-conditioners may steal the show in The scorcing summer of india,But still i recon that Ceiling fan rates high in terms of compatibility of the market trend.

no doubt, AC may be on demand. but still, I would say Ceiling Fan is still in demand. Low class and low middle sections, today cant afford AC. They still prefer to go for Ceiling Fans. In fact, areas which face frequent electric cuts, would turn to Ceiling Fans as Acs get disrupted due to frequent voltage fluctuations as compared to Ceiling Fans
