According to the study conducted by web applications security vendor Cenzic,

                   http://www.channelcomputing.co.uk/images/stories/resources/mozilla-firefox.jpg

Safari is the biggest vulnerability to Mozilla Firefox as 35% of exploits could affect the platform, while Opera's is just 6%.

Type of attacks:-

* SQL injections are the most common at 25%
* Cross-site scripting (17%),
* Phishing (14%)
* and rogue web servers (12%)

About 44% of the 3,100 exploits tracked by researchers attacked Mozilla Firefox, while only 15% of them would work in Internet Explorer.

Internet Explorer in the past has been criticized for tools like ActiveX, which have often given websites direct access to a user's PC, but has since had most of its vulnerabilities closed off both through the browser and through patching holes in Windows.

Do you think Mozilla Firefox is the most vulnerable browser?

Despite stereotypes, Mozilla's Firefox is significantly more vulnerable to web attacks than any of its rivals. Already, open-source advocates have argued that Firefox should be more secure as the ability of authors to discover and fix bugs mid-cycle where others are often unaware of apps due to obscurity.

No i donot agree that mozilla can be a vulnerable browser...I am using it and i have never found any problems in my computer until i invited the problems myself....

No one can blame only the browser for the security purpose,it also depends on the anti-virus you have installed on your computer...

Purpose of anti-virus is to protect the computer from any type of attacks...

Use a good anti-virus software and the problem is solved...

Mozilla gives the best performance than the other browser so why not we use it.....

I have ESET NOD32 Anti-virus and is suggest everyone viewing my post to try it or the Kaspersky,any one....

This anti-virus softwares have DIS(Digital immune System) and can detect can delete the most dangerous POLYMORPHIC viruses also, which use encryption and decryption technics to activate itself and damage the system...

So, not need the change the browser....And anyways Mozilla NamoRoca FULL(beta is available) is in the process to be launched.It have better safety solutions then its previous versions...

So you can try it also....

Yes,correct,But if we compare with other browsers,Mozilla is secure because the vendor response to a vulnerability is very fast (window of exposure is low)and they allready taken initiative to help users by updating insecure software..

For Mozilla Users:

Check the plugins and update........

I agree that such kind of attacks can be prevented not only by the use of web browser but also the anti-virus softwares that you use.  Moreover, inspite of development of ie8,firefox still accounts for development and bug-fixing tools.  To be more secure, use some of the firefox suggested add-ons which contain solution on some of the vulnerabilities.

Maybe, I put the argument in this way.  Since, firefox is more popular when compared to other browsers, there is a possibility for the hackers to pierce the loop-holes of the browser and hence such kind of attacks prevail.

To check on the add-ons:

Cheers!

I still feels that Mozilla Firefox is the best in terms of Security, Speed, Ease of Use, etc. It is always the best competitor for all other browsers. I observed that few of us, do not know properly on how to use it or might have few issues using the other applications associated to fire fox or computer usage.

I've been using mozilla for a while now. I have had no viruses (unless due to my own stupidity). The thing i like about Firefox the best is the multiple tab speed. I can have like 20 tabs open and they all are fairly fast. (mind you it does slow down some compared to one tab) But on Internet explorer as soon as I open 3 tabs it takes FOREVER to load. I also share the views that Firefox downloads way faster then Internet explorer. Firefox is a more, I would say, active community with all its addons and what not. Internet explorer crashes from trying to use addons. Schools like the people are either unaware of firefox's capabilities or are "to lazy to install it." Thus I see students installing firefox on their own.

Firefox is better opinion only because they have indeed a rather low profile compared to IE, but not by much anymore. And because they have a larger add-on creating community. Working on Firefox is very easy since it gives better speed. Moreover, firefox 3 is becoming more n more popular! Here is a report.
