Chevrolet launches CRUZE: Will this pose threat for others in the same segment?

General Motors recently launched its luxury sedan Chevrolet Cruze at price ranging from Rs 10.99 lakh to Rs 12.45 lakh. GM has rolled out the car with a 2.0 litre diesel engine in two different variants. It claims that the car would give a mileage of 18.3 kilometre per litre, according to the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) standards.

The Cruze is currently being rolled out in many countries across the globe simultaneously.  The company had earlier said that the diesel version of Cruze would be followed with the roll out of a 1.8 litre petrol variant in the months to come.

Everybody in the Auto industry out there would know about the new car launches and also other auto enthusiasts, I would like to know their views on this.  So what do you think people will this new car CRUZE pose threat for others in this segment?

According to me it can, and the car looks great and the ads are also looking good and the ARAI results tells us that it has much better mileage than others in this category and with the petrol version also on the role out and then GM setting up their plant in India is also a great signal with a global auto giant like GM setting their plant in India. This new car CRUZE looks good. It will pose threat to others like the Honda's the Skoda's and the Toyota's in this category.

no doubt it will give a tough competition to its rivals,as it has got very sleek and trendy looks.with great engine power and good mileage it can turn the table on its counterparts.the interiors are also preety handsome.............so beware....cruze is coming

Yes this is going to be a very big competion in this segement.As per the mileage they are offering & the price tag this is going to be a very good competion for the names like skoda,honda,ford & maruthi.

I like the exterior of the car could not able to see the interior.. hope it will attract customers all over ..

      It seems so good in austhetic wise,..I would like to question you that how many people in INDIA have a well technical knowledge on Engine specifications and thir perfomance,.. Even the well studied personality put their first sight on austhetic,.. So i feel it would  compete with luxary sedan HONDA city, accord,. and the result from ARAI  would be a notable message for all,..

We have to see the actual on road running conditions whether the new model will give the claimed mileage.

The car is having a good feature. Good looks with good mileage will definitely give a stiff competition to other cars. But it will only give competition not threat since we don't know completely about that car and many similar cars are already existing in market....
