Hey Santosh..

It really depends .. WE can't classify the vast media entertainment into just two options. Sometimes it is for entertainment and sometimes for morals. Then there are shows which extract morals out of one's mind.. It depends the way you see and the way you want it..

Cinema is synonymous with entertainment. But entertainment also can be a source of building moral values withn society.

You can use it to destroy or build yourself. The remote control is in your hands. Your control over the device decides which side of the debate you are in.

yes it is main source of income to the below level common man. also, least entertainer to make a person sit in a theater for more than two hours. It is main dependable income source of the local and state government, by way of tax. every thing including clothing, hairstyles, fashion is depended on cinema industry..

The power, popularity and penetration of cinema must not be underestimated. Not now, not ever. Ever since Alamara, the first talkies, hit the screens 80 years ago, the Hindi cinema has been going from strength to strength. The power of cinema can be gauged by the Munnabhai series which raised social issues effectively and also sent the cash counters ringing.Virtually all classics in Hindi cinema have raised burning issues of their times. That is why the "moral" side of Hindi cinema, or any cinema for that matter, can neither be negated nor be ignored.

Depends upon perception..we don't need cinema to teach us morals...most people learn moral lessons from family,teachers and society. Occasionally, some movies have stories, which convey moral values...but that's not necessary. People watch movies for pure entertainment.

hello Archana,best accept cinemas for entertainment only as main intention of cinemas is to entertain and not to preach morals.but there are some odds too.some cinemas has definetly become good motivators.

Nowdays cinema is the main source of Entertainment only...I agree with Virag also but the here the question is about main source?? and the main source is to provide entertainment and fun only...people nowdays go out to watch movies only for fun and entertainment only. We hardly find 2 or 3 good and meaningful movies in a year as listed by Virag.

Yaa..right Vivek, Bollywood cinema has changed according to audience perceptions as we can see the no's of movies, appreciated & liked from audience are-- turning 30, no one killed jessica, Dhobi ghat and more where less entertainment with good message & informative.

What I think that Cinema was started with the intention of entertainment but now the changing face of cinema world is not stick to the entertainment only but now it provides the things which can boost moral of a person like anything, see CHAK DE INDIA, TARE JAMEEN PAR, 3 IDIOTS, CORPORATE,GURU, these are full of entertainment on one hand and full of motivation on other.

I think, Every movie has a message attached with it but it may not be an interest to the viewer as it depends on individual to individual's feelings.

Yes entertainment is always with some important message, we are lot of learning from many film,serail etc. for e.g Lage raho munnabhai, munnabha m.b.b.s, dil chahta hai, rang de basanti, taare zameen par, baghban etc.bolly wood as well as hollywood. May be in bollywood now a days very less film are coming with some important message....Thanks Mr.Santosh for referal
