Look what happened at Wikileaks. Cloud providers refused to give service. Any cloud that you use is subject to the whims and fancies of the content provider and the government of the country where the provider is located. It was not as if Amazon, Paypal, Mastercard, Visa, the DNS registrar did not know what Wikileaks was doing. They were providing some service. They succumbed under pressure and found some loophole to stop service. This can happen to anyone using a cloud. You may be the "most law abiding" most "rule folowing" person in the cosmos. But if the Government of the Day decides to get after you, they can find some loophole in something that you did and "jail" you. The securirt and consistency of the service is now in serious doubt. Cloud is now a gamble. The service can be stopped anytime without notice, leaving you high and dry.

SMEs have lot more to hide to escape various clutches of statutory bodies - many of them adhere to fudging of accounts, etc., so how does one expect them to participate in a transparent model, albeit cost-saving?

Cloud Computing referred as GREEN TECHNOLOGY. In early days, customer services were not affordable to the SMEs, due to changing markets and customer satisfaction as a mode of success, SMEs are also started with customer services. On the same line, cloud computing reduces cost of opertions; and we are expecting that SMEs should except this technology. though security concerns are there but it can be solved. for that matter we should not remove focus from that.

Although i acknowledge the fact that cloud computing has a huge portential and it a great technology but I would agree with Mr srinivas on the point of its use.  Because it cost companies dearly if suddenly it has to stop its service !  So people have to think on this front before investing big time on the new technology.  hopefully we can have some kind of soultion !
