Yes, but it depends on the quality of foreign players. If they can get a couple of players from even the top 20 in the world it would go a long way to boost indian tennis. Also our players would get the much needed exposure and training. It would be interesting to see if the games are played on a variety of courts like clay, artificial and grass rather than stick to one type of court.

" Let thousand flowers bloom ". Let ITL bloom and be successful. What makes one wooried is that this should not become another I.P.L. - though successful in drawing crowd and viewers, this has brought some bad things in India also :- -- Corruption -- Batings -- Money laundering, accumulation of world tainted money -- Show of money strength and extravaganza,

gr8 debate sir, you have struck the chord to promote and develop many brilliant games in india other than cricket, but can they draw viwership of audience, and as the franchises depend upon making business from dead too, do they dare to step in those games which have less viwership????? from bottom of my heart i think it should work and make the best to the games which are in the danger of extintion??/

One can’t compare Cricket with Tennis. The following up for sport is on a different level. You can’t expect crowd around 90 thousand to 1 lacks, following a particular player. In India, team sport is always, more popular than any individual sport. Some one might go to stadium to see Sachin other might go for Dhoni, but end of the date every one is following cricket. The format of ITL is as such where; a team is made out of foreign, deshi players. This again gives us the chance to go to stadium, because it’s a team out there. ITL is good start….. Let’s see how it goes.

Dayanand,i agree with u and other who supported NO.In India no sport can be compared with Cricket as it has positioned itself like Mt.Everest in every ones heart.also one should think that tennis has got its own limitation when compared to Cricket in terms of followups, crowd, entity's,etc.,ultimately cricket in any form will surely attract us.But not to thumbs down for any other sport in India let's wish good luck for the efforts.

NO WAY... NO CHANCE OF EVEN COMING ANYWHERE CLOSE TO IPL ! Lets nt forget that, CRICKET in India is RELEGION, it is FANATICISM, it is FIRST LOVE, it is PRIDE, it is our FAV PAST TIME... it flows in our BLOOD STREAM... How can we even THINK of comparing any game to Cricket, specially in India. Tennis is game for a select few, the Classes & not the MASSES ! This Debate can END if you can beat this Argument... CAN U EXPECT 50,000 PEOPLE, to Watch a Tennis Match in a Stadium & 500 MILLION to Watch it on TV ? NO ! The point is You can have an ITL... But you cant eve think of beating IPL ! Happy Debating Friends !
