Yes to some extent. Sports as a passion is changing into sports is money.

Its bound to happen. The broadcasting rights are given to Media groups at sky high prices.This converts to Media group wanting the same kinda price for their advertising space. The company in turn either compromises on product quality or increase the product cost to accommodate the increased marketing cost.

In total for watching TV , we pay more for Tooth paste, Toothbrush and Soap.

If we don't watch TV, then companies cry that they lost the marketing advantage hence refund.

The Media group is on fire to get back the money and the game organizers are in a fits how to give back money. So in order to avoid the situation , they make sure the crowd is entertained all along at any cost.

Sad but a true fact that everything is based on TPR !
