In today's news, I came across this article that HRD minister Kapil Sibal said that the Government is planning to hold a single national-level entrance test for students to get admission into engineering, medical and commerce courses from 2013.

According to him, this process will smoothen the admission process into engineering, medical, economics and commerce courses and will reduce burden on students who are appearing in multiple-tests for admission into these sources. The Council of School Board of Education (COBSE) has already prepared a core-curriculum for senior secondary classes in science and mathematics subjects.

So users, do you think government is taking a right decision by conducting a single national level entrance test?

This is really a good initiative towards the betterment of our educational system and I am very sure that he will carry his good attitude and work in future also. All other minister should learn from his work and should work towards the betterment of our country in all fields. This process will definitely improve our selection process of students.

It is good time to ask Indian government to have an entrance exam for those who want to contest the election in future.

Check educational background of every candidate who want contest the election, He or She should be at least a graduate. Also it should be checked whether the candidate really deserves to contest?

Who clears the exam should be allowed to contest the election. Who score more should be allowed to contests from cities like Delhi / Kolkata / Mumbai and who scores less should be asked to contest from other parts of rural India.

After the election if candidates win and who scores the highest marks in entrance exam should be PM and so on for other important posts in cabinets.

In this way we can get at least good & qualified people to serve the nation.

Congress is a leader in what we call the intellectual terrorism. A day will come when the financially poor average students will start committing suicides or will turn to crimes. The same congress leadership has uselessly created a fuss about IITs and IIMs and gave them more than required attention. This propelled these institutions in producing a mass of unpatriotic and selfish youth which only thinks about their lives and not the country. IITs and IIMs are useless institutions if they cannot help the nation. The dangerous economic situation of India where poverty is rampant, sadly, the youth is only left with one weapon called education to fight the challenges of life. On the contrary, introducing entrances in every field will jeopardize the future of the already troubled youth of India. Youth is the strength of the nation, valuable lives which could be used for the national causes are spending their lives gathering bread and butter for their families. There are no government jobs left today, the youth in india is being trampled by the multinational companies. What a disaster Congress is for India!!!! No wonder we face extinction.

It is a good move which would bring all the aspiring students under one roof and remove the disparities within various states of our nation. The students  from all segments and social status will be able to compete to get seat in right place based on their talents. It would be truly beneficial to the students.

Yes,this is definitely a good step towards common code in education across the country. The step will not only reduce the burden on students in preparation and also gives equal opportunities in getting addmission in different participating universities/colleges.

It will help students to concentrate on one patter of syllabous. It will also help them making good preparation for exam. Students can relax from writing many exams conducted on regional level.

This centralised test will be beneficial for all the students who come from rural back ground and will assit them to realize their dreams growing big, which other wise would not possible, if they have to apply for many tests due to the financial factor.

This would bring in a level palying field as the syllabus and the parameteres of tests will be same for all, and in tirn will be a transperant process.

In my opinion, it doesn't seem to be a viable option to have common entrance test for all the disciplines since the level of understanding of subjects, aptitude level is completely different. It is ok to have common tests for engineering and separate for medical and so on and completely phasing out exams on the basis of states.

Let Mr. Sibal first understand what is an Apple and what is a Orange and then suggest that they can be eaten in the same way

I don't think its a wise decision. In this way, hard working students like those who are aspiring for AIIMS or IITs will face a lot of competition and there is also a possibility that less competitive students may overtake them in the admission race.
