To my opinion competition is always advantageous if u see it differently. Computer arises need even sometimes unneccessary needs. Competition leads to betterment in the product, otherwise the organisation will not take care of the quality and services assiciated with the preduct,

Competition is never a threat in any industry, under any circumstances. It just analyses your reading of the market, your ability to deliver, and the drive and vision the person / organization has. Competition just evens out the unfair advantages of money. It lifts you from complacency and encourages you to be innovative.

Let us take two industries 1 Telecom 2. Aviation. Because of intense competition, the benefits are shared by the people mostly. Hence the economy develps in multifold. Any industry, the market share of the business increase in propertion to participation of oridnary men. Moreover people are able to access the goods at the fair price.

It is both opportunity and threat. Opportunity as it allows a healthy platform for growth and provides space and time necessary for business growth. Threat if the competitor is able to better sustain the lead on quality.

IT IS AN OPPORTUNITY. ONE DAY OR THE OTHER ONE SHOULD FACE A COMPETITION. COMPETITION IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO SHOW THE ADVANTAGES OF USING OUR BRAND OVER THE OTHER. AN OPPORTUNITY TO CREAT A BRAND POSITION

Thanks for the referral Mr.Sachin Kumar. In my opinion, competition is not a threat but it is a eye opener for those who are in the same platform to compete with each others. The competition helps to know the weakness & strength of the competing marketers in the field and gives the opportunity to take corrective actions to compete again.Hence the competition leads to product differentiation that strenthen the customer base.

"Can one play a football match with no goal posts or an opposition". If there is no opposition, where is the fun in playing?? Always expect strong competition and you will be able to do better. Inorder to create sound, I need two hands or else I will be waving only a hand in the air and it has no effect. Hope there is not more explanation needed on this.....it is self explanatory!!!!

Yes more the competition more benifitted is the customer. Take the case of mobile phone bills I still remember an incoming was @ rs2/- per minute and out going was @ Rs 8/- per minute and today it is allmost negligible Then how the companies are making profit it is the sheer growth today there are in excess of 370 millio users and growing at a healthy rate so the companies are makin profit. Infact more sales less profit. There are huge number of cases like this. So it is better for the companies as well as customers once the competition is there. To add further Mr Sunil Mittal started his business with Rs 50000/- and today he sign cheques worth Rs 50000 crore.

At firm/ micro level, competition is a threat. It results in sharing of revenue and can even throw you out of business forever. But from a general view point competition, is nothing short of being a necessity. Competition promotes improvisation and innovation, and for customers it offers cost reduction and better products. Pure competition puts a check on unethical profiteering and infuse continuous development into the entire system and monopoly is advisable only for items of national importance like defense, public systems etc. Just like over diversification should be avoided; it should be ensured that competition doesn’t kill the industry. The case of mobile service providers is a good example , earlier with consolidations service price sky rocketed and now with competition they almost hit the bottom. But with majority of the players having operating losses, the competition has reached the threshold. The government have a very decisive role in ensuring optimal competition.
