Keeping in consideration, today's life style which is so busy. people prefer to have some entertainment in life. They don't have 3 hrs for movies.

TVs have many things, news, serials, game shows, reality shows, knowledge, etc and during the breaks one can do other house hold stuff too.

Multiplexes, Sound and the environment cannot be created while watching TV. Cinema is here to stay as a better medium of entertainment. Why would you buy DVD's of any Saas Bahu saga? But wouldnt you buy a DVD of Ghajini instead?

The answer will tell you that cinema as a medium is a better form of entertainment. It is a larger canvass where you are awestruck by locations, choreography, set designs, costumes, action, special effects and obviously the oh-so-famous romancing the heroine around the trees sequences!! Melody, music and songs... This is the colourful life that you lead while watching a film!! Does TV offer you the same?

The only content that is able to drive trp's is the reality shows on TV. What else can you point out? Yes, there are a number of channels that showcase lifestyle, cuisine, travel and also home decor but is that sufficient to sustain your interest levels when there is a Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa or a MTV Roadies or SPLITSVILLA happening at the same time??? Even an Indian Idol has its viewership till the Idol is selected. Beyond that.....what?

I think Indian TV is gettin much better no. of audience due to EKta Kapoors serial and News Channel menaces...

I think so with growig fashion in Indian television it is seen that even that day is not too far. Even the fashion trends are now being followed of television.

totally agree with Markand and Mohen here, please don't compare TV serials and Films, its a no match according to me, the ambience while watching a movie cannot be created while watching tv, its like being in stadium when i watched Lagaan in Theatre, where every run was scored, so no comparision with TV and Films according to me...

Never ever think of such a contest. Film is bade miya and Tv is chote miya. They can entertain the Indian audience but  no one can argue on thier superiority.

I think Cinema is one which has captured the minds of people. Even television stars are waiaitng for the cinema to give them a break then I do not find any way when the popularity of Conema will go down.
