Not even root cause is same there it was not mortgage loans while in Asia, it was the effect of real estate sector which came like bubble. And there actually the currency mismatch occured.

There is utter mismatch between the currency trading and the domestic currency of countries and the best example that we could see is of Asian financial crisis.

Yes I do agree that there was Asian finacial crisis but cant you see that the crisis are even today now the venue is different it is USA on place of Asia but the root cuase is the same.
