You can't get the better of the low grade Indian bosses. They will always continue to punish you for your honesty, while reward the flatterers. Having said that, look upon the job just as a means of sustenance and don't be touchy about it. Rascals alone get promoted easily in India. Take solace in this fact.

This is hard decision and we can just give opinions. Leaving right away will not be a wise decision. Either you should see if you can get a better job and then change of you should urge for recognition in the current company for your contribution and see how do people respond.

IT actually depends on the circumstance. If you feel you have been wronged at due to no fault of yoursthen you should stand your ground and when you feel in this situation that you do not get any respect, then it is better to quit and move on. Though you can forgive and move on once, you cant keep doing it forever. In some organisations they will wantedly keep surpressing you if you are the forget and forgive types. One should continue only till ones self interst and career advancement is guranteed and not otherwise.

I had a terrible experience yesterday. I took the initiative to churn out one artifact aimed for internal communication. Mgr HR and EVP appreciated it and decided to use it as part of Training and Development of resources. Session was scheduled. To my shock, when the invites were sent for 70 resources and 05 directors of cross functional teams, I was not even in the loop, after half an hour I received separate mail that invites have been sent. None of the senior is aware that it’s my initiative. I wrote one mail to EVP who is also my immediate boss keeping HR and one HR Exec in loop expressing my agony on the issue and asking why I was not even in the loop. Instantly HR replied saying it was unintentional and expressed sorry. However, I think it was intentional and aimed to take credit for the commendable work done by me. EVP also replied giving me some pep talk. I am in a fix, should I trust HR and forget the incident as a bad dream or tender my resignation. I think I am not getting the recognition I deserve and given the circumstances it appears HR did it to usurp my work. May I request you to plz help me out with your valuable suggestions?

I am working with a leading U.S MNC as a Sr. Writer.

Thanks....

People like this will be there in every turning point. Those people won't have sufficient knowledge where as they know to steal it from others............

i don't think it is a good decision to  give resignation. Now its a challenge for ur ability to achieve. The idea stealers won't get original ideas...........if u r expressing than make a point, that you keep the key idea with you and to elaborate the idea they should need your help to execute it.

RUNNING AWAY IS NOT THE SOLUTION FOR ANY PROBLEM……….

STAND RIGHT THEIR AND ACHIEVE, IT’S BIT DIFFICULT BUT U WILL STAND…..

IF HONEST PEOPLE START RUNNING, THEN WHO R THE SUFFERER’S ULTIMATELY ONE WHO RUNS .

LEARN TO TACKLE THAT PERSON.HE IS YOUR TARGET NOW AND TRY TO DO RESEARCH AND WAYS TO TACKLE HIM AND AT THE END MAKE HIM TO SAY”YOU ARE THE BEST”…………………

THE STEALER IS THE PERSON WHO WOULD HAVE COME UP USING MONEY,POWER,ETC BUT NOT FROM TRUE KNOWLEDGE AND HARDWORK………………U CAN WIN IF U HAVE KNOWLEDGE ,HARDWORK,PASSION AND DEDICATION IN YOUR WORK……………..

PATIENCE IS WHAT U NEED RIGHT NOW……………LET HIM JUMP AND DANCE BE COOL AND DO YOUR RESEARCH.

True, arguments at workplace are good sometimes while it leads to understanding of our own market value - and when the value is much higher than what you are currently getting, then there is no harm in changing. :)

Now the point of discussion is - what do we understand by the term 'value'? Pay package is certainly one component of the set of values one expects to get from workplace - but there are certain other important components as well. Decision of leaving a job is always personal, we generally prioritize some value-components depending on our likes and dislikes and change job in order to get the preferred ones ignoring others - all components incorporated in the set of values with one job is extremely rare.

giving credit where it is due  is not the rule at least in our country. so take heart . you are among the majority.

and there is no need to crave for recognition . if you have the expertise you can do it again.  recognition will come tomorrow if not today.

after all a job is a professional engagement. let us not repeat most common  mistake of getting emotionally involved.

so  forget , stay on and continue to be in business

Please remember that it can also happen in the next company and you can't keep on moving. You have to live with it in our corporate environment. But at the same time you have to find out ways of getting atleast due recognition in which you may face stiff resistance from your boss, collegues and all other people who are anyway connected with you in your company. Also, you are not facing this situation alone. I had a boss who believed in 'don't work so there will not be any mistake' but wanted me to perform. I even did not know what was expected from me. I did not know what to...

Mr. Rajiv dont go out of the organisation. Try your best to expose those ugly faces to your senior colleagues and management as well. There is no difference in forgiving and leaving the organisation at this juncture. They need a fitting reply. Be cautious enough while dealing with these personalities. H.R. naturally have the advantage of proximity to higher authorities. They may take the situation to their stride. Take the senior colleagues (whom you believe most) into confidence and make out a plan to expose. I dont suggest you to leave the organisation. Organisation here is not just HR. If the CEO is of the same natured, you've no other option, except to leave. But, that is not the situation at present. All the best.

You should move on. Respect your job, don't let your ego come in between. If seniors haven't given you due credits but they must be aware of the fact that you were behind the change. It would generate deep trust and regard for you in their mind. So better wait for good time to come when you will be given priority everytime while thinking of an innovation

Seniors would surely pay attention.

Learn from this experience, forgive and move on. One can take the credit for your genius only once or twice but if the talent is in you, they will consider it one day. Move on with more determination this time and success will be yours

I think the issue is not one of forgiveness.

You mention "I think I am not getting the recognition I deserve....". Why do you feel so ?

How long have you been working with this company , and what has been your experience so far , excluding this recent incident ?

If your experience so far has been good , and your job is satisfying , then you can ignore whatever has happened ; however , if you are , in general , dissatisfied with your present job, then I think you should start looking for another job.

Leaving a job should be a well-thought out decision , not one that you take on the spur of the moment.

Any grievance that you have , should always be brought to the notice of your immediate superior , and you should make it known that you would appreciate if the grievance is attended to , to your satisfaction. If the company is a good one , and they value your services , they will do their best. If not , you know that the company is not worth your services.

One does one's best , professionally , for the satisfaction it gives one , not for the recognition that it brings. Every achievement of yours , makes you a better person , irrespective of whether it is recognised or not.

The very fact that your suggestion has been acted upon , is recognition , even if it is not credited to you.
