Corruption has reached an all time high in India. Lately it's also spreading to the business community where the corporate ethics has been damaged by the recent high profile scandals. There has been a series of scams involving the Indian corporates which reveal the nexus between business and government that have tarnished the corporate ethical codes.

As a part of law, ethics demands respect in business. According to the Corporate Governance Code of India, all directors annually sign Code of Corporate Ethics by which they are supposed to follow the work ethics.  Do corporate ethics really exist in India??  What are your views people..

I agree with you. Ethics is the soul to an organisation. Else its like the swamiji's we have - talk about god and follow unethical practices. I believe its each individual who should take the onus for the ethics of the organisation. If employees believe orders can be received by not bribing, collect reimbursement on actuals with proof, taking advantages when working from home... and so on, i think the company's ethics will fall into place by itself. What say?

The only thing which is stopping people to follow etichs t work, business or for tham matter home; is Greed and love for power.... which needs to be corrected and things will automatically set right.

A sad no, Mmorality in a country is determined by its leaders, and for a country which is morally corrupt, it is not surprising that its people including businesses would succumb too. The goverments have shown the way.  No wonder in a recent survey it said that 54% of us have paid bribes. (The world average is 25%)....why talk about it when corporates are running their business based on crooked ways and mere adjustments and trying to use a loophole in a policy to get things done.  When your business is set on unethical base, where is the ethics??
