The corporate world or synergy is the result of consolidating wealth gains.In finacial terms it is defined as creating capital assets.The capital assets get start melting when there is downturn in business.The stake holders are alerted fearing lossing their capital value.The immediate casualty are the employees and hence the right sizing.The employees are asked  to proceed on leave or sent home with compensation.The repercussion on employees is tremendous as they have to reschedule their loan repayments.Their school going children feels the pinch as their pocket expenses become first casualty.The family goes under humiliation,disturbances,and remains within confines.

A good debate Mr. Baksh, I feel that since we are unable to dicatate our future in any corporate world so we should be ready to face any eventuality. It is better to accept that fact as it is and move in a optimistic way rather than burning bridges by being bitter and complaining about your employer.

In Indain context getting reemployed is not so easy.The retrenched employees plan their expenditure so that saving could be effectd in times of crises.The recession takes its own toll. He /She should wait patiently.He/She should apply for new job,He should take the help of his networking and be persistent in seeking the job.The retrenched employee must sekk for new avenue of employement.

It is the companies responsibility to inform the employee about their retrenchment in prior. Because it the employees future. If he is intimated he will look for some alternative......

Baksh ji, Truth is stranger than fiction. At times, recession is often used as an excuse to retrench some employees who are not in good books of the management for reasons other than their work performance.

Sometimes, even the appropriate compensation is also not paid in lieu of retrenchment. Why should middle or lower level management pay for the follies of higher ups in the management grid that are accountable for strategic blunders?

Mostly, it is observed, to start with, heads of the employees at lower rungs are rolled and later on, if the situation does not improves, then only the higher strata in the management is touched.
