When the country is rocked by numerous scams, Indian Institute of Management , Ahmedabad students here have decided to launch a helpline on corruption to curb the menace plaguing the country.  When the students proposed the idea of staring a corruption helpline, I thought that the idea was excellent in present context when situation in the country is such that common people think that their work cannot be done without giving bribe,

They have already conducted a small survey on corruption issue. They have also visited, various state agencies like Anti-Corruption Bureau, Regional Transport Office and other state government agencies like police. Do you think this Corruption helpline would be of any use to curb corruption??

They have taken a very good initiative, But they need support from everyone.Still most of the people are unaware of this. And the people who are aware...... are not using it because they anyhow want there work done.Government should take steps to make this popular among everyone.

Absolutely right, it may look like next to impossible but surly it is possible that together we can minimize the malpractices that are going on. Hats off to IIM guys.

At least we should appreciate the efforts made by the IIM students. It is a positive thinking. I wish every success for them. It may create some positive impact despite not able to eradicate completely. All citizens of our country should cooperate in seeking corrective measures/steps to get rid of the social evils of scams, corruptions, and scandals in our society.

Thanks for the referral Mr.Manoj Kumar.

Ayan I dont agree with you since a modest beginning has been made yes it will not eradicate corruption totally but there may be more such group will come and join the band wagon and in long run it will definitely help in eradicating corruption to certain extent.

How far corruption will be reduced, time will tell it, but obviously the utilisation of this phone number will show a path of disclosing the so called perfect person.

Definitely yes, if this helpline is going to tell people how to get their work done without getting involved in the vicious cycle we are talking about. Of course, they also need to show people the alternative ways which are within the legal and constitutional framework of the land.

It won't eradicate this problem but surely make people a little more aware of the kinds and levels of corruption. Methods of offering and receiving bribes have changed. we might be able to know about the new forms of bribes.

Congratulations to initiator and wish all the best.

Unfortunate situation is corruption travels from top hence the corrective mechanism as well requires to travel from Top to be anywhere near tangibly effective. The head reminding of Bapuji's three monkeys in unison.

There is already a Vigilance Cell where such corruption practices can be reported. But, sadly, everyone or those in the know are more interested in getting their work done rather than cleansing this country of such malpractices. Thus, being hand in glove with those whom they bribe, they would not want to block this channel to success/progress! ! Other will never come to know of it !!

It is good that students of IIM have at least thought about it. However, such a problem could be uprooted if each and every individual stood against it, which is difficult to be

I appreciate the initiative taken by these 6 students. But, I really dont think this will be of any use. Everyone knows where corruption is there but still one is doing nothing as if caught they bribe the political babu's to get out of trouble, starting from a peon to a Chief  minister is corrupt in this country. There is already a social pressure but no one is bothered about that. Corruption has become a way of life. And this method is just going to bring out what everyone knows. Either be in the system or change the system by yourself and do not depend on tools like this to help in your cause...

BJP too is forcing him to resign but he is seeking legal options to stay in. No one wants him, everyone knows how corrupt he is still he is not willing to leave! what should this attitude be called? Do you think he will resign at will ?
