Creativity is a mental process involving the discovery of new ideas or concepts, or new associations of the existing ideas or concepts, fueled by the process of either conscious or unconscious insight.

Diligence is a zealous and careful nature in one's actions and work, exemplified by a decisive work ethic, budgeting of one's time, monitoring one's own activities to guard against laziness, and putting forth full concentration in one's work.

Definition Source: wikipedia

An employee who is creative is an asset to an organisation. In today's world when there is cut throat competition innovation is something which can guarantee growth and sustenance of your company. To bring innovation you employees who are creative and can think out of the box.

Another asset of the company are the committed employees who with their due diligence carry company growth on their shoulders. They stretch themselves much beyond what is expected normally.Such committed employees keep your company apart and shining in the mirage of business.

If an employee is both creative and diligent..aha what else can you ask for but what if you have to choose between the two ? What would be your take?

You can find diligent employees in abundance in comparison to a creative employee who is rare and surely a boon to a business enterprise.

An idea monger is virtually worthless if he doesn't have the ability to bring it to practice.Anyhow an idea in practice is innovation otherwise just another day dream.

I see a spectrum from new ideas, ways, tools, methods coming in on the left. Going across to the middle

where most of the work is done, and continuing past to the perfecting/finishing end of the spectrum. Perfectionists/bureaucrats seeing innovators spending time & money making lots of misteaks want to discard them. Some do and wipe out inflows so companies die.  We need the creativity to feed the larger process, or the whole thing dies.

Continuous creativity is not required. A diligent workforce - regardless of domain - with innovations supported periodically from a focussed creative group is more than enough. While creativity helps the world progress, it is dilligence that keeps it moving.
