Why don't worship players who have performed for the country, i think they are leading examples for youngsters that even they can achieve that kind of success in future if they work hard towards it...And its individual choice like whether one wants to watch cricket or not, and it is liked by one and all and popular for a reason...but yes other sports have not found much following like cricket does...but then nobody is doing anything for the other sports to make it interesting...cricket is innovating before there were only test matches, then came onedayers, and now the T20 its evolving and that is why its been liked by all and people love to be associated with such sport Mr. Prashanth

I wouldn't say that we need to worship our cricketers but definitely its not like that by watching cricket our productivity is coming down or something like that...I mean how can we stop people from watching what they like and everyone needs some form of entertainment and if people are getting that through this particular sport..then why not.But yes there should be encouragement to other sports as well so that our country can win medals at olympics..

I mean support the players but dont make the hero worship. We are not saved by cricketers but by jawans. Why should one leave all their work & make our country loose the productivity in percapita by watching cricket. Cricket players however dont give the money to the nation but its for their own luxury. Lets encourage our national game Hockey than the next door game Cricket.

Who is bothered in these calculations? I do agreee but every thing can not be calculated above the excitement, enjoyment, everybody keep your hand on the heart and say when you go for shopping or just partying don't you spend out of pocket and later make adjustments? Because that adjustment is above every thing and the excitement is more important. Let's close the debate here and enjoy the game.

I do not see this as a serious threat at all! Even during IPL now, people are regularly attending their work and at the same time updating themselves from the net on the story! Work does take precedence today in the given scenario that we are in! Everybody understands that we need to 'individually' put our efforts so that we can prove ourselves and our worth!

And why shouldnt we worship our idols who have brought SUCCESS to our country?? I think it should be a role model for a youngster to emulate these winners and have the same PASSION to succeed!
