1. There is very little communication though we have too many methods of communication 2. Commitments specifically ones on commitment to revert, return the call, give feedback are made only to be broken 3. Mobile Phone ringing during a discussion on an important topic is no longer considered impolite 4. Concern for others and their time and efforts has reached it nadir (or is there more downfall possible) 5. More the company projects to be 'professional & having a corporate culture', less is the experience of such positive culture by people 6. Expecting people to be available only when one needs it and not bother about them in other times There are many such things happening today. The problem is faced by the complete spectrum of stake holders who communicate (or expect to communicate should i say) with the corporate be it a large organization or an individual face on a day to day basis with most players in the market. What was an exception 5 years back today has become a rule. Where are we heading

I strongly feel following things: 1. As far as communication is concerned it is always taken care of as and when required. 2. Sometimes the personal work pressure is too high that reverting a call is not possible but still if you have work you need to call back again and you will surely get an apology. (isn't it polite enough??) 3. team meetings , team lunch and team outing improve the environment as a whole. 4. the higher officials are always helpful if they really feel that you are sincere. (so its more or less upto you) But its very difficult to see the brighter side of the work and we keep on focusing on the work side making the environment around us hostile for ourselves.

I have gone the case study of 2 banks The Bank of Rajasthan Limited, now taken over by ICICI Bank ;I got opinion both from the customers as well asthe staffs of The Bank of Rajasthan Limited. The Relationship between the Customer and the Bank goes beyond the Technology and in a cost effective manner.Which is lacking any of the Banks which adopted Computerisation and Technology, without taking into devoloping Human Resources.Any day when there is a abundance of knowledgeable graduates and postgraduates are passing out the Management ought to have gone in favour of trained manpower resources rather than importing costlier technology which is not viable for our country, though iam in favour of Technology driven;but not at the cost of wasting knowledge based human Capital.

it has moved from bad to worse because people (I will not call them professionals) no longer practice restrain and discrimination. Anything can be talked about anywhere and anything can be done. it is all acceptable under the dubious name of diversity and tolerance! Shock value has become normal.

yaah I do agree with Ms Diya, corporate world is now getting improved day by day, and is getting more refined, in sense of Culture, Environment, and Compatibility. they are reforming, uniting, improving their interactions, knowledge and quality of standing together. they are now improving by introducing so many new programs like Learning sessions, knowledge sharing, reach outs, celebrations, and etc. which is creating a lot of potentials in the team. Individuals understands each other and work as a team.

Diya I am in total agreement your point of view. At the same time. As far as our culture is concerned it is always difficult to appreciate some body but it is totally easy to to find faults and that is what is happening.

This debate is too generic. We have corporates at various levels - those who believe in conforming to international standards (like, CMM, etc.), the HR policies and work culture are akin to best of the organisations in the same vertical across the board, whereas, if its SME, then obviously there would be deceleration in every aspect in order to save cost to increase productivity and profit.
