I see no reason why we cant ! only thing is we have to ensure we reserve double the amount we estimate for spending for the olympics and pitch for it sometime in 2030 or so so that we have enough time to lay each brick in a day. Better still we should come out with a scheme wherein we pay all the parlimentarians a fixed 3% of the cost as an olympic special allowance with the promise that once they have received the money they wouldnt try to pitch in directly or indirectly or hamper the work. No, seriously, having learnt our lesson with CWG, i think we are ready to host the olympics. It would indeed be a crowning glory and at least be better than the Chinese like we proved with the CWG.

There is always the good feeling that we can host the Olympics. However, given the difficult issues faced during the Commonwealth Games, it is not an easy proposition to host the Olympics. The Olympics hosts a lot of sports disciplines and there are not many facilities of international standards in venues maybe apart from Delhi. This also puts more pressure on Delhi to create more infrastructure to meet the international standards. As there are a lot of difficulties and other infrastructural issues, it may be a difficult proposition to host the Olympics quickly but in the longer run, we should definitely be able to host the Olympics provided all the issues and other factors are ironed out... Thanks for the referral, Disha...

Yes. She might have understood the teething problems & also, the area of concern where the problematic people dwells in. CWG might have given her a first-hand experience to tackle problem in the Future, in Organizing event like this. Hope we will prove it also in Olympics.

Yes I agree that Indians can do anything and everything but the fact that everything should be done in a proper manner and a planned way would help increase the confidence of all in taking such responsibilities. We should never forget that TO ERR IS HUMAN..... but not repeating it. I convey my regards to the organising committee but i also request them to do these kind of job with great sincerity and dignity. JAI HIND JAI BHARAT

YES OF COURSE ... WE CAN !! WHY DO WE ALWAYS DOUBT OUR OWN ABILITIES, CAPABILITIES & CAPACITIES ? WHY ?? Just because we are a developing & not a developed country ? I think developing is better because 'Developed' IS A FULL STOP & DEVELOPING IS A CONTINUOUS PROCESS. I feel that such Arguments put more doubt in our minds 'On our own Country'. OLYMPICS IS NO BIG DEAL... When Time comes, we shall do it & show it to all Non - Believers that... INDIA IS THE BEST... ! JAI HIND !!

Olympics will definitely happened in coming future, but we may get chance in 2024 or 2028. & that time we will rectify the past mistakes & will take proper care to make it a big success. If our attitude is positive, then we will make Olympics to be happened in India.

I think yes they can...The Indian Olympic Association and the Sports Ministry have been at loggerheads on bidding for the 2020 Olympics. Despite the controversy-marred build-up to the Games, International Olympic Committee President Jacques Rogge after the inaguration ceremony had said that India has set a "good foundation stone" for an Olympic bid in future.
Also Delhi now has 15 top class stadium in all the categories which are of international standards, besides other world class infrastructure which has been set up for the commonwealth games..So, yes after all the controversy, even the games village has came for strong appreciation from Mike fennell the CWG chief, and many players saying it is much better than the beijing olympics games village...

Shielaji is right, we surely can. After all there are always times wherein complete cities are in curfew. And of course residents can always take holiday and go out at government expense, the children can afford to take a year off. There are enough VVIP's who can zip with red, blue or amber beacons on their vehicles and enjoy the loot and extravaganza at the cost of hapless miserable taxpayer, who does not seem to mind (have or not is noe in question). Why not after all wee need to practice and achieve perfection in showing off the "best in showcase through whichever means",citizen starvations, not mattering.

India can definetly hold Olympics. But not with the Politicians heading the Sports Bodies and Associations and at the helm of affairs. When we respect professionalism and exibit "Required Attitude " by the Top leadership of the Country. Needless to say that Lot of planning needs to be done. Not that it is not Known, but The Top Leadership of the Cuntry should insist that the moment we know that we are bidding for the Games. Here, in our country we allow the things to go in different direction to settle scores with individuals at the expense of the Country's Image. Then, hurry up the things till last second.
