Absolutely, if was not for IPL the cricket world would not have seen such young talents. It is obvious that every young talent cannot make the big team immediately, however they still have a chance somewhere down the line. This happens in every country and politics also gets in the way. The domestic players were definitely paid like everybody else who was part and parcel of IPL. So apart from getting recognised is this also not a benefit?. The most important thing to remember is that a team can only play 11 players and think of how many teams India can form immediately? You cannot get rid of experienced players just to give a youngster a chance. There has to be a mixture and it takes time to get groomed in.

yes ,its really a big chance for the domestic players. Because when they play domestic cricket on that time they may not get the suffienct amount of name, fame and money. But when they take part in IPL on that time they get the good chance for playing with experince players as well as they also get the chance to show their talents infront of peoples.

Monetary benefit (the like of which older generation players could only dream of): YES Exposure to public eye and subsequent recognition: YES Opportunity to represent India in future: Better than the non-IPL players. The oldies are going to retire someday. Daulat mili, shoharat mili, kismat khuli to Indian teammein jayenge. I think IPL has been good for the young lads.

Yash I am not in agreement with you on this...It has helped domestic players to gain experience and share the dressing room with the greats of the game from abroad (Shane warne,Gilly,Jayasurya...)Selection of those players in the team is too early to comment. There are players who have got the name and recognition like Yousuf Pathan,Manish Pandey,Goni.....So when a face is recognised, everyone watches for him in the domestic circuit even if he is not selected..In Australia selection takes place in the age of mid 20's..The reason for their non selection is because the present line up is so strong that you cannnot take them out..Only injury to a major player gives an opportunity to a youngster.Undoubtedly money is also on the scene but still the young Indian players gain a lot from such games... Sure Yash, would you not call monetary benefits as a benefit. "Catch them young & nurture them to be in India XI" is what Ranji and other such leagues are meant for, why did we need IPL. A pure marketing platform that gives an opportunity to young players brushing shoulders with all high ranked domestic and international players, and in an attractive package at that. To do so, and get media in such a large volume and get paid for all this is certainly a lot that they all gained. To help in sourcing 1 in Indian XI is just a hogwash that we are bound to buy. Like test and one-day, IPL is a different platforms and each would have its own set of dedicated players benefitting from the chosen version. Names would come and go and lets have it clear, India XI has no relation to all three put together.

Yes I in agreement with the earlier writer. The IPL really is a business and nothing more. The players quality and talents get destroyed for the IPL but can earn money and one of the most popular amusement for the people at large. But to those who are really thinking cricket viewers is the Test Cricket is best. It is healthy for the players also. If we sincerely think cricketing grammar is really followed in the Test Cricket.
