Condescending eh! Mr.Sood.How so?

Are we discussing virtue or Branding? The very question is incomplete devoid of making any meaning? Moreover, it not only the language even the subject matter needs proper frame work.

Firstly the question should be correctly framed; here are the options Pl choose:

MNC Ads Made out of India is it affective?

MNC ads made in India are not affective?

MNC BRANDS Made in India are not affective or Indian brands made by Indians in India are not affective?

Branding is important for any product / company but its handling purely depends on your depth of company's pocket. Despite of being smaller-in-size than so-called MNC's, Videocon Group is one such company that has handled its branding  & product positioning in a manner so as to make MNC's sit-up & take note of.

MNC Branding is done by professionals. Desi branding is done by the family members / relatives of the promoters.

Sorry friend but I don't understand your question properly...

However, if you are talking about Global brands vs. Indian Brands then the answer is very simple.

Answer is the "Strategy". Yes, we want to be everything to everyone while global brands are something to someone.

Let me simplify,

This is a list of some successful global brands. (Majority is in Top 10 Global brands).

1) Google
2) Microsoft
3) Coca-Cola
4) IBM
5) McDonald
6) Nokia
7) Toyota
8) Apple
9) Intel
10) Marlboro

Now let me ask you some questions....

What is Cock? It's a soft drink
what is IBM? A Business purpose Machine
What is Microsoft? It's a software company
What is Nokia? It's a Mobile brand
What is McDonald? Restaurant Brand
What is Goggle? Search Engine
What is Toyota? A reliable car
What is Intel? Microprocessor

Now let's talk about some Indian brands..

What is TATA? TATA is a truck, car, mobile, insurance, tea, salt everything.. (You will not find TOYOTA Namak)
What is Reliance? Answer is almost same...Mobile, Insurance, Mart etc...
What is Videocon? TV, Mobile. etc...
What is Titan? Watch and recently Eyewear..

Deadline, we should be something to somebody, While we are trying to be everything to everybody. I think, with this kind of approach India can build only business but not brands...  And this is the big difference between Global Brands and Indian Brands.

Nopes, Shiuli. You possible read me right but took me wrong.

Whatever we might be discussing, FORUM is purely a means to put thoughts in ones own words, leaving the rest to the co-participants. The question & subject matter were clear enough for me and Kashif to respond. Others who didnot find enough in it, cared not to write-in.

Anyway, just thought of writting this much and am sure anything more would be going personal, which I donot intend doing any which way.

Sorry to say so, Shiuli but you were really rude in posting your observation. I think the forum users are not expected to write proper english and also structure their words / sentences in a right manner.

I think, MNC's branding is one generation ahead from our Desi Company's due to the Sole Reason that they are very Particular about their "Brand Image", "Brand Portrayed" & "Brand Perception"

So, they do every possible thing to bring their message clear. While, we still carry "Chalta Hai" attitude.
