There is a barrage of ads, and many celebrities who are endorsing so many products single handedly and with so many brands in Indian landscape. Advertisements of a single top celebrity of each brand runs 400 times every day on around 20 top satellite television channels.  How many of them can you recall?  So, what do you think people, Do consumers fail to connect when celebs endorse too many brands??

yes, take here an example of Mahendra singh Dhoni, he is currently endorsing 22 brands and even if he is having the ad-slots in the range of 10-20 seconds, then just imagine so many channels airing his ads in a day, it will easily mount up to more than 20 hrs of ads from a single celebrity like Mahendra singh dhoni.

Over-exposing a celebrity can have its ill-effects. The consumer starts losing focus and the communication (of different brands) gets blurred. The consumer fails to connect with any brand.

Of course and more over the consumer cannot relate to the add unless a standee is placed near the product.

It doesn't make any sense for the celebrity too to choose many brands at the same time

One of the main reason for celebrities endorsing a brand is for easy recall. But when too many brands are endorsed by a single celebrity, recall becomes an issue. If brands themselves are successful, recall is not an issue, but how many of us remember the various soaps, oils and incense sticks that many actresses have endorsed.

So, I would go with a mild yes (not an emphatic one). The key for any successful endorsement is a nice ad campaign that catches the imagination of the people and a good product to back it up. My guess is that the consumers connect with the brand rather than the celebs endorsing it.

No celeb ads are aimed at exploiting the mentality of the consumer. An average consumer prefers to buy a product endorsed by the celeb for he/she can not buy expensive things owned by the celeb like House, car etc.
