Yes majority of corporate india is not only supporting but also following the green laws. You can take the examples of Biocon,Infosys,ITC,Tata initiatives in certain regions. It does not mean that are performing it all as their job...they are doing whatever they could keeping the momentum of their business/work culture.

I have as an experienced professional, seen how corporates have evolved their strategies and business policies to save mother nature. Yes, but it is restricted to their own boundaries. They must take it to the society at large and educate their ancillaries and partners to take parallel actions. As HONDA is doing, we should also take up responsibilities of nearby area. We have to stretch our arena of thinking and support society by this way only. We cann't shut the operations but we can restrict the damage and can contain it by creating industrial zones and centralized efluent treatment plant backed by indian govt.

hiii sonam, it is fact that our industries do not take care of our greenery, especially the chemical industries. and in our gujrat our chief minister will take some positive steps for the environment and motivate all the people to grow more trees. in last month, in our gujrat our chief minister Mr. Narendrabhai Modi planted about 5 lacks treen to make our state Green.. its really memorable day..and i think all the peoples have to think about our Environment and will try to plant just one tree.. its my guarantee that if we do this, then our nation will become a green soon.

No, not until there is huge pressure exerted on the government by the environmental activists and through government on these corporates. Shortcuts, cutting corners and undercuts........ are much more prevalent than environmental concerns in most cases, thanks to loosely enforced laws.

On "black & white" it is abiding by but, on ground reality, it is negligible compliance.Merely, complying on documents is not the true " care for green". Atleast, they should come forward to reduce energy consumption level, if not, fully trying to adopt green-tech applications.

A few years back, a majority of the corporates were not focusing much on environmental issues. Currently, due to improved awareness, the focus is now more on environmental issues. However, despite the focus, there are still many environmental problems. This highlights the fact that the seriousness on the environmental issues is still not high. Thus, it may take some more years before the focus on green issues is prevalent among the corporates....

Really they do no care for Green Laws as their main motto is to make money. There are many which go for everything to fill their money- box. But, they show definitely that they are serious on this this and contributing a great for the green cause.

From the way things are one is made to understand that Corporate India does not think of any law and is completely focused in strengthening the bottom line.Very sad indeed.

Of course you are right Ms. Sonam, But in case of chemical industries practically it will be difficult to enforce these green laws, which may cost to them severely and that's why they are not fully implementing. Moreover for getting the license or to satisfy the pollution control boards they take the initiative and afterwords it will be in paper only. Strict prohibitory measures are not taken or followed either by the companies or by the govt. authorities. Thanks for the referral Ms. Sonam Kapoor.

YES they care...only on paper.....and mind it not cutting trees is far-far more beneficial than planting trees...and planting trees without cutting any is better....and planting trees for political or CSR propagands is good for nothing.

Corporate India cares for green laws as long it affects the competitor!!They are all taught to be 'practical' and look at the targets to be met, share price of the scrip, rather than 'idealistic' acts of 'saving the Earth',green laws etc. They adopt the same approach what we all do when we jump a red light when there's no cop is sight. As long it is not forced on them people/corporates will merrily flaunt laws or principles of natural justice.Look at each one of us responding to the mail, how many of us actually avoid taking plastic bags from the grocer?same applies to corporates, their mantra is "come on,be practical"!!

No they dont. Unfortunately, i am not sure if it is there job to have that as a primary concern. Our government should have established and error proof zoning laws. Even if they do, they dont enforce it very well (i am not talking corruption while that too is a factor. I am talking weal enforcement). If the infrastructure of laws and enforcement is sound, one can find fault with people who violate them. When ithat basic setup is non-functional anarchy prevails!!@
