True Mr. Jayagopal, nice to hear some one taking the onus for systematic failure. No use raving and ranting about failures. And then passing the buck. I guess success has many fathers but failure none whatsoever.

You got to live with your choices. IF this is what you voted, then this is what you get. But inspite of the farce these elected representatives carry out in parliament, they still manage to get elected the next elections. That reflects on us in turn doesnt it ?

There is no better alternative for democracy. There are deficiencies in the existing system. Flaws in the system needs correction. It is the responsibility of every Indian citizen to voluntarily participate in the election system. Most of the educated are staying away with some reason or other. However, they do criticise the system every now and then. Its not correct. We the people has the power, better we utilise it and force the Govts. to take corrective steps. The representatives who are failing to discharge his duty shall be recalled.

Yes! There is no better option as of now. Do we self appointed guardians of society to usurp power, We will end up Soviet Union, China, north Korea and Pakithan. That is no choice as I see it.

They are elected by the people of India, but they never represent them ... but their own interests and motives.

Hmm here the basics point shpuld be in INDIA is a land of unity in diversity which represents 28 states & 7 union territories which means here we can find a lots of variety on the behalf of culturals values ,religious values ,caste creed & belief since long in INIDA opeple are used to opf diff culture & tradition so here the Electon means givining vote for person who are associated with us on these values nor on the basic of eligibiligy so here there is a big conflict between the people who elect & represent Inida & the true NATION this can happen once the common public ll forget the rule of dividede & make one nation.....................

Elected reprsentatives never reprsents public they reprsent money and muscle power . They are worried about their personnel pockets only. Their pockets must be filled by any means what so ever it may be.They get elected by fake voting, booth capturing and other means. Some of them are really electected by the people.

Pl note, what is the total population of India? What is the population of eligible voters ? What is the percentage population of eligible voters who cast votes ? What is the percentage of cast vote secured by winner ? Does this situation is going to provide a representative sample ? To be representative a sample must secure atleast 51% of votes.

Whether it be 2G scam or CWG or Adarsh Ghotala, these top representatives of the country have pulled down india's image to an extent that it will take years to heal. When they take their positions, they take an oath that they will not do anything that goes against coutry's image or its people but unfortunately it is just an old going speech that lasts only during campaigning. They don't think that every indian will bear the brunt of their wrong-doings. How can they be represntatives of India when they can;t even represent themselves properly..??

The point that should be considered here is Mr. Kalmadi, Ms Dixit, Mr Raja, Mr Chavhan, all these were the elected people who was involved in activities which was somehow or anyhow related with the hampering of INDIA & INDIAN image internationally. Indians are now considered as one of the most corrupted people in world (As per survey did by an German NGO) india slipped from its position 87th to 89th in 2010 of international corruption index after CWG scam. Thnx Mr, KALMADI for representing India & Indians internationally in CWG as corrupts. This is how they represents ourselves, which means they are not doing there duties honestly & hence not are not the representative of india.

No. In a normal case of 65% polling, with a triangular contest, the majority candidate represents 25% of the electorate at the most. If you take total votes plus people below 18 years plus unregistered voters, he will be representing 15% of the people of his constituency at the most. Therefore he is not answerable to anybody..is the conslusion he derives.

The whole system is corrupted. If you blame one responsible person, then you need to go to another, he is also corrupted. So, finally the result come that the person who complains looses his faith .

They represent their own interests limited to amassing wealth at the cost of everything else. Even if it is a diamond studded coffin laid in gold, it belongs to the dead.Yet for what and for whom ? This is just to begin the debate. I do not believe that they represent the people of India.
