I agree with you diya.Lets try to understand this with humane perspective. Right attitude comes from the environment a person has grown in. If he/she is not able to maintain stability in a closet relationships then the same attitude is more likely to come in work place. So i stress on better relationship management in household life. I think that is the main reason why all HR experts are stressing on work-life balance

people with higher emotional quotients make a difference in their jobs because such people own the responsiblities personally. This way they are linked by heart with the job and people with him/her it makes a great difference in work. This also boost up theenergy level in subordinates.RESULT IN SUCH CASES ARE VERY NICE AND POSATIVE.

Yes, Its more for a sure that employees with an emotional quotient will only carry the right attitude and at the same time it is sorry for them since they contribute the most and compensated the least reason being these rarely are able to prove the diligence of their connection with their job or company as compared to those who are more logically and professionaly connected.

Yes Diya you are to the point. Those people will always sucessful who they are well behaved and connected with the people of the organisation and also lead by example. In a time of down turn all these peoples will try to work to such an extent that the downturn can be stopped and takes a turn to the positive side.

Endorse it. Its highly critical and has become quintessential after the downturn mode. The emotional quotient is more of heart share and is essential to be more of a humane than mere diplomatic & transparent less. EQ brings in more responsibility, visionary thoughts & motivation factors in professionalism.

absolutely correct Diya, what often happens in South Africa, no disrespect to the companies is that the wrong people get assigned in managerial and very senior roles when they very well know that they are incapable of handling the position they find themselves in. Furthermore, they begin to throw their weight around, throw tantrums, take leave more often than they should and make everybody else reporting to them look bad. They begin to victimise and blame others for their failure, but i guess it is all about getting your nose in front irrespective how it gets done or what criteria were used for that. This is the biggest problem in South Africa and a great regret to companies that end up losing valuable staff members and resources due to this injustice.

Diya, I was just wondering whether we are assuming (rightly or wrongly) that having an emotional quotient is necessarily good for an individual, group, or an organization. Haven't we observed that excessive emotionalism or being mushy may be not really be good in many situations.
