Yes, female employees can grow working under female bosses. Your performance counts for growth rather than who is the boss. So concentrate on the performance and growth would follow.

I think this issue of male and female should not enter in to the organization not even in public places. That will be better for all of us however what i was saying i know very difficult or almost impossible to happen. but that will be good if we treat each other as human.

Ya they do to a certain extent. It also depends on the industry. I have come across cases where business heads allow subordinates to grow till they are a threat. There are industries like media and mass communication where cut throat competition and sheer need of networking does not support the argument. So it is all the more necessary in general for all and especially for female employees to be in good books of the next superior !!

I don't think it matters whether you have male boss or female boss. Growing up in any profession depends on once personality..how well he/she performs and use the skills to resolve issues..

I donot think it does matter a lot whether your boss is male or female.A boss who has the qualities of a good boss anybody feels free and proud to be his/her employee. If your hard work and sincerity to work counts u will get time and space to develop yourself and to serve your organisation the better way.A boss who is a good human being counts not by his gender.

No. There is reverse discrimination amongst female bosses for their lady employees, Maybe the attitude "I am special, I can manage a job and a family, do justice to both. But You ?"

First We have to understand you are talking about personality, professional or overall growth. Well I Think What matter is the approach of the person of its own. Who ever is the boss either male or female, old or young who will have the right approach will grow.

I don't think so that a female employee can grow only under female bosses. It depends upon the person whom you are associated with. If the boss is flexible enough and give space for thegrowth of his.her subordinates it doesn't matter whether you have a female or a male boss. many a times it might happen that a female boss would not want a female employee to grow as her employee would prove to be better than her in some aspects.

I dont think, there is discrimination on gender in India. Quality of work will surely give you the lift you deserve wherever you work. If it is the question of getting favouritism, its the male bosses may give extra notch to the females working under them with the reasons best known to them. Sorry, if I am sounding differently.

No, A women's enemy is another women as goes the popular saying. So even if an woman employee is capable, she will be not be given her due credit if one of the hierarchial managers is a women, the woman employee will be down played by her female boss. Why not- Women thy name is insecure and selifish and manipulative.

Dear Miss, this will make no difference in growth aspect. If the boss and subordinate are opposite sex, then there is something to tell . Otherwise, their attitude matters. A phychologist told that generally women are possessive and self-centred. But my personal experience is not accepting this.

It is a mith.Women are in general anti-women.They can be better bosses/subordinates with men. Males can be handled by understanding their ego which women can handle whweras jealousy rules relations between women which cannot be controlled by a women boss. Inherentally women wish to project that they are better off than any other woman

Thanks for the referral Dipika, but I couldn't support to you because The REALITY is that working for female bosses is a living Hell, and even my female Feminist friends openly admit that they that female bosses are a nightmare, and they would much prefer to work for a man. Women usually treat other women like crap. Most women can't stand to have women bosses. Somehow it doesn't seem as bad having a woman boss when you are a man. Women must learn to accept responsibility if they are to be taken seriously as bosses. Men leave their home life at home, where females seem to bring their homelife into the workplace. A male boss for me.

well i don't think so because it doesn't make any difference whatsoever if you are a professional, and have a passion for the work you do. besides never seen two women acting out for each other there is always a cold war kind of situation between them. more reasons to argue with each other than to co-operate with

This may be a subject matter of a research or a research-work for a PhD. If female subordinates/ employees/ staff do not come out with their experiences, we may not get an idea. In an ideal situation, some positions like Boss, CEO, Chair-person, Leader, Mentor etc may not have "gender identity".Thus, such a question becomes redandand and may not be taken up for discussions.

Here comes again a debate based on gender. Why we have to differntiate our boss based on whether he is male or female. Concentrate on your work, Show your boss that you are competant enough, irrespevtive of male or female.

Unfortunately NO. The chemistry does not gel together . Basically a man feels proud when he helps his opposite gender to ascend and proclaims as his rate of success , while female to female the ego always works and in practical experience I have never seen two female colleagues grow together as a boss and assistant . In a girl's school near my vicinity I ve seen the HM sticking to rules rather than accommodating when became a boss . There was an all Ladies Branch of a nationalized bank in Kolkata which never succeded owing to internal bickering . Even I do not think Indira of Pepsi, Kochar of ICICI Bank have immediate female colleagues. It is the great sense of uncertainity which prevents a female to promote another female . In politics too its no exception . Maywati do not have a female minister nor do I can recall our own Indira Gandhi had any minister of stature under her . So very naturally a female always prefers to works under a male boss simply because the amount of leg space they provide in their work environment and the instant acknowledgement they get .

I do not think it really matters. There are good bosses and not so good bosses. Women communicate more but that is not necessarily a substitute for good organizational skills and leadership. There is a feeling of friendliness with a female boss but this does not last over a long period. I personally prefer any boss who is smart, not prone to mood swings and is confident in his or her abilities and can take suggestions and thinks things through.

No its not true for all the cases as per my perception women learn much better under male seniors as they are much more inclined towards imparting their knowledge as compared to there female counterpart. Jealousy is mainly responsible for this .A women could be a good tutor for male and vice versa as there is less jealousy in opposite genders.

I know its difficult to digest but its a fact that females are more jealous with females and its become untolerable for a female employe to bear her female boss. Idea conflict, ego, beauty etc are some of the many factors which female employes would hate in her female bosses. Even it becomes difficult to convince to a female boss rather than convincing the male boss.

Gender...gender...gender... I dont know when we all came out of this discussion!!! This fight is from the day of life existance, and no conclusion. Still discussion is in progress. Skill is personal not gender specific. Its like asking a question who help kid to grow better..mom or Dad? Employee grows better based on its own inter/intra personal skills and with the help of organization and his team(including his lead/boss). There is 4 different personality: 1. Dominant 2. Influtential 3. Steady 4. Compliant A person (male/female) falls in one of these category or mix of any two. Lets accept each individual personality than digging deep into gender biasism...
