According to a survey, 55% people in India and Brazil believe that good looking people can get away with less work. In a poll of Delhi Times, with question if they were part of the 55%, and came up with some heartburn, and some stubborn belief in merit. People believe that in industries like service sector, employees use their beauty and charm to get out of work. Even if the biologically blessed don't actively use their charm, they know that it's a weapon they have at their disposal.

Few more people think its not looks but gender which adds to more advantage in getting work done. They say, it's easier for a woman to get work done. Even if she is pulled over by the police on the road, she'd get away with much more lenient treatment than a guy. In general, the fact that women are considered the weaker gender works in their favor. And dressing decently matters.

So dear friends, do you also think good looking employees work less?

I agree. Typically, the office charmer, would not hang around with colleagues at the office, but would go out with them. 'Oh, let's discuss this over lunch', or 'Oh! Let's go out for a drink.' It'll be five minutes of work-related conversation and 30 minutes of chatting. There are those, however, who provide unusual insights into the issue. these kinds of things are common in office.....

Yes ... this is a " Global fact ".

This is to be changed at least in India. We are a growing nation and may not tolerate such luxaries.

HR people should keep an watch so that "these" people may not hamper productivity. They, if found a 'spoiler' may be sent to other Industry like Media, Cinema, Life-style or Fashion etc.

You are right dear, I feel,  both the good looking who is truly by birth and the other who is looking good either by managerial influence or others like status, richness, seniority in the section etc., would not perform as they are expected in any organisations normally.

I don't think so. A good looking person may be able to make a better "first impression", but that's it, work still needs to be done at the end of the day. If that person cannot get the work done, the first impression will not last long.

I don't think good looks play a major part, however gender may influence things at workplace..
