Certainly yes. Any education will add value to a man's skills and change his thoughts. And MBA, if done in a good university and in a proper manner, will add much more - soft skills included. It will change the way the Government operates.

I think an MBA equipped with analytical knowledge can analyse the situation and make better decisions. A non MBA only analyse cost of a decision but an MBA can do cost-benefit analysis and make best decision under given circumstances.

If you thinking about efficiency , it does not any matter with M.B.A . Efficiency can increase graduate person also if you did good training to graduate person. I dont think so that for govt. require any special M.B.A. Yes it will helpful definitely if govt. will recruit. But especially M.B.A , it doesnt any matter. Thanks Mr.Natteraja for referal.

I think first of all government should provide proper training programs and encourage the existing employees for further studies.we can see in india already people with graduation and higher studies applying for clerical jobs.I think without asking we already have enough unemployed graduates and post graduates looking forward to any job in govt. sector!

Earlier there was a referral," either to continue MBA or ME". There I mentioned this . Govt. of Tamil Nadu was giving employees with MBA & ME qualification, an allowance for their higher education. But, very recently, it stopped allowance to MBA qualification whereas, it continues the same for ME / MTech . Reason for this, the Govt. says, MBA is not contributing anything constructively whereas, ME/ MTech are considered as professional enrichment. It is therefore, they say, help the department. From this monetary point of view , it is not advisable to do MBA in Govt dept. Whereas, in Corporate World it has much to say. As the degree itself says," Business Administration".
