Is it the skill of the employees which is not at par, creating problems or is it the manpower which is really less and needed to be increased?

Yes. But, not like the present staff, majority of them are not customer-friendly, rebellious, government servant attitude, put customers in to avoidable difficulties, at times, and suggest that the person concerned is on leave (sometimes on maternity leave) and no one wishing to pick up the task or the Managers fail to delegate responsibilities, so on and so forth.

Firstly it matters whether the employees are efficient and skilled at par or not. I think non managerial employees are not at all efficient to handle critical and overlapping banking operations. Ironically they are always with the excuse of less manpower. Everyone expects some specific and stereotype set of task to perform. I think nationalized bank employees are paid more than any type of bank.

Higher number of unskilled manpower can't do better. Since many of the veteran employees are devoid of common banking sense.

NO, Number of employees are not required in the Nationalize Banks but the existing numbers are required to be trained well so the customers services can be improved. As banking is in service industry so it is important to build relationship with customers and clients of the bank

Let me tell you that the staff unions are very strong in Nationalised Banks. If a clerk refuses to do extra work, the Managers have to do it on their own and can not take action against the employee. Whether you train, offer more goodies or take classes in customer relations... It is all useless unless the employee unions accept the change. "Better born as a doneky than as a Bank Manager" lamented one Senior Manager some time back.
